‘RHOA’ Season 13 Filming Shut Down After Positive COVID-19 Test
Filming for The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 13 has come to a screeching halt. The Bravo reality series has been filming in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic taking all the precautions necessary. However, even after being careful, there was a COVID-19 test that came out positive and production has ceased for the time being.
As the United States experiences a surge in coronavirus hospitalizations, RHOA has been hit with a positive case. According to a source close to the production, the show will be on a two-week hiatus in order to ensure the safety and health of everyone involved.
“The set follows rigorous COVID-19 safety protocols, including contact tracing,” the source told Deadline.
RHOA Season 13 brings back Kandi Burruss, Kenya Moore, Cynthia Bailey, Porsha Williams and adds Drew Sidora to the mix. Back at the end of October, Williams shared a photo on her daughter’s Instagram account of her getting a test.
“What a beautiful day, right mommy?” the caption reads.
Kandi Burrus reveals the rules of filming during the pandemic
It was in July when the Bravo series started production of the new season. Burruss gave details as to how the show was filming during the pandemic.
“It’s a lot of rules because more than anything they care about our safety,” Burruss told Extra.
“We’re getting tested all the time,” Burruss continued. “That’s what we have to do to be to continue to tape together, we have to make sure everyone’s status is negative.”
Drama between the peaches
One of the big issues that the RHOA peaches will be dealing with in the upcoming season is the Black Lives Matter movement. Williams has been one of the strongest voices in the Bravo universe to come out and support the cause. The Dish Nation host was even arrested during a Breonna Taylor protest during the summer.
Bailey recently gave Williams accolades for her activism and putting herself out there in the name of social justice. However, not everyone on the show has given her all the support. After a troll said Williams was only getting behind the BLM movement to get more clout, co-star Moore did something shady.
Moore replied to the troll with the side-eyed emoji. By her replying to that comment, she highlighted it and brought attention to it. Williams was not OK with that and proceeded to call her out publicly.
“[Kenya Moore], you should be ashamed of yourself trying to bring attention to this disgusting troll,” Williams replied, in a screenshot captured by The Peach Report Daily. “You actually felt compelled to respond to this lie, you want people to pay attention to this mess? Shame on you.”
Williams didn’t think it was necessary for her fellow housewife to give credit to an anonymous person. Instead she asked her to be supportive of her and the cause.
“You knew people and blogs would follow this,” she continued. “You should be supporting me as a fellow black woman trying so hard to change this world and instead you’re the least supportive person ever.”
The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 13 premieres December 6 on Bravo.
