‘RHOA’ Season 14 Rumors: New Report Suggests ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’ Is Experiencing Difficulties With Casting
The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 14 has not even started filming and there are already rumors of drama behind the scenes. Weeks before production begins on the Bravo franchise, there have been rumblings that a major cast shakeup was underway. However, as filming is set to begin, a new report is suggesting that producers are having trouble casting the show and setting their lineup for the new season.
Who is set to return to ‘RHOA’ Season 14?
Cynthia Bailey has been vocal about her possible exit from RHOA in the past couple of weeks. The former model has not signed a contract to return for season 14 and her stake on the show is not certain. A new report from LoveBScott is shining a light on the gossip behind the scenes regarding casting.
According to sources close to production, Porsha Williams is not certain to return to the show. The latter is currently shooting a spinoff focused on her life that will consist of 8 episodes. Williams is allegedly having doubts about coming back to the series following her engagement to Simon Guobadia that has other housewives ready to come after her.
The insider also revealed that Shereé Whitfield would be returning to the franchise for a third round. Marlo Hampton is also in serious contention for a peach for the first time since she’s been appearing. Season 14 would mark 10 years since Hampton made her debut as a “friend of” on the hit franchise.
Rumored to not be returning for a second season are Drew Sidora and LaToya Ali. Allegedly, production would want to have a total of 7 housewives holding peaches for season 14.
Marlo Hampton is ready for her peach
Hampton began appearing as a “friend of” in season 4. Since then she has made a splash onto the RHOA scene causing drama and havoc for the housewives. However, despite being such a controversial figure on the show, she has never been an official cast member. Earlier this year, Hampton pled her case about why she should be considered for a full-time role.
“I’ve been around too long for you guys not to really come into this house, see when I’m crying, see when I’m sad, hear me talk to [my adopted nephews’] mom,” Hampton told ET. “Just really get to know who is Marlo besides the story people are taking and just painting for you. You don’t really get to see me within an hour show, that’s edited and I’m not a peach-holder. You don’t get to, it’s so much more of me to know.”
The reality star said that if her full-time role didn’t work out, she wouldn’t have an issue getting downgraded to a “friend of” role again.
Cynthia Bailey doesn’t want to get fired
Bailey has been open about her situation with RHOA. After 12 seasons as a housewife, the former model feels that she might be reaching the end of the road on the show. One thing that she has been consistent on is that she wants the option of returning to the show and doesn’t want to get fired.
“Nobody really wants to be fired. I mean, my first job was Taco Bell [and] I wouldn’t want to be fired from there,” Bailed explained on The Wendy Williams Show. “I would want the option to leave if I wanted to go. God’s will, not my will, will be done. I have had an amazing run. It’s been 11 amazing years as a consistent peach-holder.”
The Real Housewives of Atlanta are expected to return to Bravo later this year.
