‘RHOA’ Star Kenya Moore Shows Support for Nene Leakes After Heartbreaking News About Husband Gregg
Nene Leakes shared heartbreaking news about her husband Gregg Leakes, whose cancer returned. The former Real Housewives of Atlanta star asked everyone for their thoughts and prayers and some of her co-stars came through. Kenya Moore, who has had a rocky relationship with Nene throughout the years, shared a message on her social media in support of the Leakes’.
What did Nene Leakes say about her husband Gregg?
The love came pouring in for Nene after she shared that her husband was “transitioning to the other side.” Nene made these comments at her Linnethia Lounge after some patrons called her “rude” for not saying “Happy Birthday” to one of them. The former RHOA star took the microphone and the stage at the club and addressed her customers.
“My husband is transitioning to the other side,” she said in the video originally shared on TikTok. “You don’t know what we’re dealing with right now. We walked in this lounge because we had to walk in this lounge because this is our business. So, when people approach and say, ‘you’re rude because you don’t want to say happy birthday,’ my husband is at home dying. I don’t want to say ‘happy birthday,’ OK?”
Nene asked for everyone’s thoughts as she went through this difficult moment. She also said that if she had gone to the lounge it was because she has a business to run.
Kenya Moore, Porsha Williams and other housewives react
After Nene shared the news about her husband, many of her former RHOA co-stars chimed in to show their support. Kenya Moore, who Nene has feuded with throughout their time on the reality series, shared kind words on her Instagram Stories.
“Praying for Gregg, Nene Leakes, and their family,” Moore posted. “Even through our ups and downs, Gregg never treated me differently. He was always kind and respectful.”
On top of the post, Moore added the hashtag, “A Good Man.”
The former The New Normal star shared an Instagram post with the words “Broken” where other stars expressed their thoughts.
Porsha Williams said, “Praying for you all during thus [sic] difficult time.”
Marlo Hampton and Phaedra Parks, who shared on-screen time with Nene, replied with emojis. Other Real Housewives stars that replied included Gizelle Bryant from Potomac, Garcelle Bryant from Beverly Hills.
Former The Real Housewives of Potomac star Monique Samuels said, “Sending prayers to you and the fam.”
Larsa Pippen from The Real Housewives of Miami said, “Praying for you and your family. Sending u lots of love.”
Nene Leakes knew Kenya Moore was good for ‘RHOA’
Nene and Moore had ups and downs in their friendship and it ended on a sour note. However, despite what everybody would’ve thought, Nene didn’t want to get rid of Moore from the show when she was still on. Nene acknowledged that Moore’s antics were good for RHOA.
“Whether I like her or not … she’s controversial, she’s the craziest person I know — that girl ain’t got no sense,” Leakes said on The Breakfast Club back in May 2020, via Reality Blurb. “[But] she’s perfect for the show. She’ll do things and say things that nobody else will do or say. She needs to be here.”
Later that same year, Nene would confirm her exit from RHOA after being on the show for 12 years.
