‘RHOA’: Yovanna Momplaisir Drops Diss Track About Nene Leakes and Fans Hate It
The last installment of The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 12 reunion wasn’t as explosive as the previous two episodes, but it was apparent that Nene Leakes quit filming.
Andy Cohen and the rest of the cast missed her, especially when Yovanna Momplaisir showed up. As a guest on the show this season, she stirred the pot and continues to do so off-camera. Like Leakes, she decided to release a diss track directed at her now-foe.
Yovanna Momplaisir confused the ‘RHOA’ cast
As the last person welcomed during part 3 of the reunion, Momplaisir was supposed to answer for “Snakegate.” The gist was that someone secretly recorded Cynthia Bailey talking smack about Leakes, and it caused friction between the two women.
Though a recording was never produced, Leakes stated Momplaisir was the one with “the information.” When Momplaisir popped up on the Zoom chat, she claimed that Leakes instructed her to record the ladies to find out who really wasn’t her friend.
“She wanted proof that everybody else was equally talking s**t about her the way she talks s**t about everybody else,” Momplaisir said.
This revelation led to questions from Cohen and the RHOA cast, and Momplaisir admitted a recording never existed. She said she genuinely worked to build friendships with the women and after Leakes learned that, she wanted to use her as a pawn.
Momplaisir didn’t have a problem with doing a little bit of spying for Leakes to see who was disloyal, but said the idea of recording someone went against her morals.
She said she made up the whole recording story to get Leakes off her back. Leakes wasn’t on the show to verify or contradict any of this. Some of the ladies wondered why she was just revealing this information and questioned her motives.
Momplaisir also said Leakes’ attorney sent her a cease and desist letter directing her to destroy any audio she had in her possession. Although Bailey believed her, not all RHOA cast members—or fans—were buying her story.
Momplaisir released a diss track aimed at Leakes
On May 24, the same night the reunion aired, Momplaisir shared an Instagram post promoting her new diss track, “Queen B***h.”
The lyrics in the song are directed at Leakes, and the post’s caption reads: “Nene Leakes, You underestimated the wrong B***h” with a bunch of shady hashtags. It’s too explicit for us to post, but here is the link.
We could not find one compliment about the song, but there were a number of commenters trashing it. On Instagram, fans are writing things such as “I came here just to say this is not only a trash song but it’s also a sad attempt at trying to stay in that 15 min. Let it go,” “Gtfoh groupie…. throw this trash in the 🗑,” and “This song is WACKKKKKK! You need to stop.”
On Twitter, people are saying the song is corny or replying with a “Bye Gail” in reference to her real name. One commenter wrote, “This is horrible. This is embarrassing.” Another joked, “Word on the street is Kandi wrote and produced this for Yovanna.”
She’s reportedly been offered a peach
News hit the internet that Momplaisir’s been offered a contract for season 3 of RHOA, and some fans are in disbelief. Though it hasn’t been confirmed, TMZ is reporting that contracts for the upcoming season were sent out to the cast after filming for the reunion concluded.
If this is true, it is believed Momplaisir will ride the Snakegate storyline and deal the aftermath of her rift with Leakes. Since some of the other women on the show have their doubts about her, there is a chance Leakes won’t be the only one that isn’t on her side.
