‘RHOBH’ Star Garcelle Beauvais Joins ‘The Real’ as New Host, Replacing Tamera Mowry-Housley
Garcelle Beauvais shook things up when she joined the cast of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills this past season. While some fans enjoyed watching her scenes with Sutton Stracke and Denise Richards, others couldn’t get enough of Beauvais’ beef with Kyle Richards (and later Lisa Rinna).
Now that season 10 is behind her, Beauvais has a new TV gig lined up and fans and celebrities are congratulating her all over her Instagram page.
Garcelle Beauvais is joining the chat on ‘The Real’
Garcelle Beauvais just landed a job as the new co-host on The Real and people are loving the move. This follows Tamera Mowry-Housley’s exit from the show. According to Variety, Beauvais is joining the talk show’s virtual table when season 7 launches on Sept. 21.
She’ll be working alongside fellow hosts Adrienne Houghton, Jeannie Mai, and Loni Love. Beauvais issued a statement expressing her excitement.
“I am thrilled to be joining the dynamic, bold and diverse women on the award-winning talk show The Real,” she said.
“My love for pop culture and news blended with my natural gift of gab, has always made me gravitate towards a talk show environment. It’s also exciting that it’s happening right after my amazing time joining The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”
The “Tell Me a Story” actor is no stranger to film or television, and she’s even performed hosting duties on The Talk, The View, and Hollywood Today Live. Beauvais’ extensive resume includes modeling and acting in projects such as The Jamie Foxx Show, Coming 2 America, The Magicians, and Grimm.
Beauvais said her time on ‘RHOBH’ was fun but hard
By the end of her first season on RHOBH, Beauvais was still tight with Denise Richards but on the outs with Kyle Richards and Rinna. During an interview with Access TV, she spoke about the reunion, being the first Black woman on the show, and her relationships with some of the women.
Beauvais said she was conscious about her portrayal on the series but stated there were fun moments and hard moments during filming. However, she added that it took her two days to shake off the effects of the reunion and it was the last straw.
“As the season develops, you sort of see how people are or their stance on a certain thing, and for me the reunion was the straw that broke the camel’s back…”
Beauvais reiterated those sentiments when she appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen and said the event was draining, shocking, and exhausting.
Fans have been wondering about Beauvais’ return to ‘RHOBH’
Based on Beauvais’ comments in interviews and on the reunion, many fans wondered if she would come back for the next season of RHOBH. She’s stated she enjoyed her time on the show but the feuds with Rinna and Kyle Richards really put her off. Her return would depend on an invitation from Bravo and Richards’ decision.
Beauvais has also been vocal about her longtime friendship with Denise Richards and told Sirius XM’s Jessica Shaw of EW Live that if her friend declined to go back, she wouldn’t do it either.
