‘RHOBH’ Star Kyle Richards Shows Fans How Much Daughter Portia Has Grown: ‘Almost As Tall As Me Now’
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills premiered in 2010 and introduced viewers to wealthy ladies in the Los Angeles area. Kyle Richards is one person who has been on the show since the very beginning, which means fans have been following her family for over 10 years.
Richards’ youngest daughter, Portia Umansky, has grown a lot since the first season. The mom of four recently showed Instagram followers just how tall Portia is now.
Portia was 2 when ‘RHOBH’ premiered
On RHOBH, fans were introduced to Richards’ family, which includes her husband, Mauricio Umansky, and four daughters: Farrah (born 1988), Alexia (born 1996), Sophia (born 2000), and Portia (born 2008).
Portia, in particular, was only 2 when RHOBH premiered. Although she does not spend a lot of time in front of the camera, she has nevertheless been a TV personality for much of her childhood.
Kyle Richards shows fans how much Portia has grown
These days, Portia is no longer the cute toddler that fans know and adore. In 2020, she graduated from sixth grade and, in March 2021, she celebrated her 13th birthday.
On Aug. 15, Richards posted two photos of her and Portia on Instagram. The mother-daughter duo struck fun poses in front of a mirror as Richards snapped pictures on her phone.
“Breaking news,” Richards wrote in the caption. “My teenager let me post a photo of us together. I can’t believe my baby is almost as tall as me now. Love you Portieeee.”
Many fans commented on the post and also marveled at how much Portia has grown these past several years.
Portia might follow in her mom’s Hollywood footsteps
It’s still too soon to guess which career path Portia might choose as an adult. However, it seems she could go into acting—much like her mom did before she became a reality TV star. Richards had significant roles on the show Little House on the Prairie and the movies “Halloween” and “Halloween Kills.”
“Portia is the only one who wants to act and it’s very weird for me to take her to auditions,” Richards told Page Six in 2018. “It takes me back in time, all [of] the sudden, I’m my mom and she’s me.’”
Richards admitted that she felt “awkward” at these auditions when people recognize her from RHOBH. However, she noted that Portia often had a “good attitude” at auditions.
“She just has such a good attitude about it and she’s very good at it, she’s screen tested [and] she gets callbacks all the time but she hasn’t booked it yet so now I start getting like, ‘is she going to start [getting] sad or nervous?’” Richards shared. “But she just goes and doesn’t even ask about it again so I think she thinks this is the job.”
While Richards seems okay with Portia going into acting, she once said she would not encourage her daughters to be reality TV stars.
“I wouldn’t let them,” she said in 2020, as reported by Wonderwall. “Two of my girls are in real estate. They’re businesswomen, and I like that they’re on that path.”
