‘RHOBH’: Who Did Taylor Armstrong Marry After the Death of Ex-Husband Russell?
Taylor Armstrong was one of the original cast members of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. She was a regular on the first three seasons of the show, where her rollercoaster marriage with ex-husband Russell Armstrong was documented.
However, Russell eventually died and Taylor left the show. She has now remarried, and some fans might be curious to know who her current husband is.
Taylor Armstrong was in an abusive relationship with Russell
On the second season of RHOBH, fellow cast members and viewers became well aware of the problems plaguing Taylor’s marriage. During one episode, Camille Grammer even stated that Russell was physically abusive to Taylor.
Taylor later opened up about her marriage on the podcast Divorce Sucks. She revealed that, aside from physical violence, she experienced emotional abuse as well.
“[There was] definitely a lot of verbal criticism, and that wears a person down,” Taylor said, according to Bravo. “A lot of people I talk to, I feel like emotional abuse stays with you. Those tapes play over and over in your head.”
She also shared that the abuse made her less attentive to her daughter Kennedy. Taylor noted, “Those were really the years that I regret the most, that I didn’t find that courage to leave earlier so that I could really be more present for my child and not a constant ball of nerves.”
As seen on RHOBH, Taylor and Russell did seek therapy for their relationship. Ultimately, though, in July 2011, Taylor filed for divorce.
Russell Armstrong died by suicide in 2011
A month after the divorce was filed, Russell died by suicide. Taylor recalled that she discovered his body when she came by his rental home to discuss their custody case.
She said, “I went to go meet him one day, and his office was dark and he wasn’t there and he was a workaholic, so it was completely unusual for that to be the case. And I just had this sinking feeling that something terrible had happened.”
“It had never crossed my mind in the past,” Taylor continued. “He was very narcissistic and not someone you would ever think would take their life. But ultimately, I had found him hanging in the house that he had moved into.”
Who did Taylor Armstrong marry after Russell’s death?
Taylor eventually remarried. In 2014, she tied the knot with attorney John Bluher.
Bluher was the lawyer who helped Taylor during her divorce as well as after Russell’s death. The two of them initially kept their relationship on the down-low, but they soon went public and started appearing at events together.
Taylor has spoken positively about John. She now hopes that her second marriage will give Kennedy a good example of what a healthy relationship should be like, though she still has her worries.
“My biggest fear is the fact that I stayed [with Russell] as long as I did could perhaps influence her relationships in the future,” she shared. “People who have experienced domestic violence in their home are much more likely to be abusers or be abused, and that’s something that I have to make sure that it stops here.”
