‘RHOBH’: Why Andy Cohen Says Kris Jenner Would Never Join ‘Housewives’
Andy Cohen is sort of like the father of all The Real Housewives franchises. The Bravo star is an executive producer on all the shows and has a seat at the table when making casting decisions. After announcing that Keeping Up With the Kardashians was ending, Cohen is now weighing-in if Kris Jenner would join The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
Fans suggest Kris Jenner
It wasn’t long after the Kardashians announced KUWTK was ending after 20 seasons that fans had a brilliant idea. With Kris Jenner now being relieved from producing and starring on the E! reality series, she would be free to join RHOBH. Everything also coincided with Denise Richards confirmed she wouldn’t be back for season 11.
Jenner already has ties to the Bravo reality series as she is close friends with Kyle Richards. Integrating her into the cast would be a natural fit within the Housewives world.
As social media went abuzz suggesting Jenner as an addition to the cast, Cohen started receiving messages on Twitter.
“I got so many DMs and tweets saying, ‘Kris should join the Housewives. She is good friends with Kyle [Richards]. This should happen. Make it happen!’ And then I tweeted that I would be talking about it on the radio today, and I got a whole bunch of tweets saying, ‘Don’t do it.’ It’s so interesting to me,” Cohen revealed on his SiriusXM show Radio Andy.
The Watch What Happens Live host feels that Jenner would be a “huge get” for the show as she has existing relationships with the ladies.
“I think it would be a huge get too, and by the way, she is already connected with the cast,” he added. “She’s good buddies with Kyle. No joke, she knows everyone on the show. She is buddies with [Lisa] Rinna, I think.”
Would Kris Jenner actually consider joining ‘RHOBH’ Season 11?
Despite fans wishful thinking that Jenner would star on RHOBH, Cohen doesn’t think she would actually join. The late-night show host brings up a good point in that Jenner is a producer. She has been part of production on Keeping Up With the Kardashians for 20 seasons. Jenner has a say in what gets aired on the show and what stays in the cutting room floor. If she would accept the Housewives offer, she would need to relinquish her power.
“Why would she leave and join a show that she has no control over?” Cohen asked. “She wouldn’t be an executive producer of the show, she wouldn’t have control over the edits, so I think for someone who is used to having so much power over a show, I can’t see her surrendering that power.”
Many fans feel that Jenner would make an excellent housewife and she would bring in that Beverly Hills lifestyle that characterizes the star. Jenner, along with her family, is one of the most recognizable figures in the world and would make a fantastic addition to the cast. There’s no word yet if Bravo and Cohen would actually extend an offer to Jenner.
