‘RHOBH’: Will Eileen Davidson Come Back to the Show?
The world of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills has been in flux lately. After Lisa Vanderpump left the franchise, the show had to figure out how to adjust the storylines and still have drama without Vanderpump. As the show has been known to bring old housewives back from time to time, people have been asking some former housewives if they would be interested in coming back to RHOBH.
Eileen Davidson’s time on the show
Davidson joined RHOBH in season 5 along with Lisa Rinna. The two both came from the soap opera world as Davidson had appeared on Days of Our Lives, The Young and the Restless, and The Bold and The Beautiful and Rinna was on Days of Our Lives and Melrose Place. Davidson appeared on the show as a main housewife from seasons 5-7 while Rinna is still on the show. Since then, Davidson has been a guest on RHOBH but hasn’t been full-time since 2017.
Would Eileen ever return to ‘RHOBH’?
Davidson was well-liked by her castmates. Housewife Erika Jayne previously told HollywoodLife that she would like Davidson to return.
“Eileen [Davidson] was a real voice of clarity and strength, and she was honest and open,” Jayne said. “And I miss Eileen, I think that she, she’s great, you know, and she’s just cool lady, and she’s a great friend. And she’s a cool chick.”
Though Davidson recently appeared on an episode of RHOBH, she is not thinking about coming back in any bigger capacity any time soon.
“I really can’t even fathom it,” she told the outlet in an Instagram Live. “I had a hard time when I was on that show and I’m a much happier person when I was off of it. So it would take a h*ll of a lot to get me back on it. I don’t think so. I tell people it’s like when you left your high school and everyone’s kind of moved on.”
But she would be open to appearing in more episodes as a guest.
“I think so, absolutely!” she said of returning in a guest role. “As long as I have some control over the situation. I need to have some control over the situation.”
Why doesn’t Eileen want to come back to the show?
A lot of the housewives have trouble with being in the spotlight all of the time. Having your life broadcast for everyone to see can take a toll on anyone. And that’s what happened with Davidson.
“It was very difficult, emotionally… everything being out in the open and the public and the things people would say to remain relevant,” she told the outlet. “I had a hard time with all of it. I’m a straight shooter. I lay down the facts and when everybody doesn’t play by those rules, it was excruciating for me. It’s really hard because I was always trying to get some kind of resolution and it’s just not possible in reality TV.
“I don’t relate to it anymore,” she said. “There’s certain aspects of it that I miss, but it was really hard for me.”
