‘RHOC’: Dr. Jen Armstrong Calls Husband Ryne Holliday’s Behavior ‘Embarassing’ as She Reveals They Separated After Filming Season 16
The Real Housewives franchise has bought drama to reality TV for more than a decade. It all started when The Real Housewives of Orange County premiered in 2006, and the rest was history. Careers and personalities are made and destroyed on these now-iconic series.
Of course, many of the cast members were successful before appearing on the Real Housewives. This was the case for Dr. Jen Armstrong. Technically, she’s not a housewife. Yet Dr. Jen, as she’s known, was featured as a guest on season 15 of RHOC. Then, she became a full-time cast member for season 16. Things didn’t go exactly as planned for the doctor and mom of three. In fact, the show hurt her marriage.
Dr. Jen Armstrong brought drama to her first season on ‘RHOC’
Dr. Jen is an aesthetic doctor with her own practice. If that weren’t impressive enough, she’s also the mom of three kids. Twins Valor and Vince are nine years old, and her daughter Cece is six. Armstrong brings plenty of drama to the show, including stories about an ex who is suing her for nearly a million dollars.
According to her ex-fiance, he loaned Armstrong $850,000. According to the cosmetic doctor, she received the money as a gift. The relationship went south when Dr. Jen revealed she was pregnant with twins, and this generous ex was NOT the father.
Armstrong’s current husband, Ryne Holliday, is a dad to all three of Armstrong’s kids — at least, that’s what Dr. Jen says. Some fans think Holliday is an unsupportive partner. In fact, the cosmetic doctor revealed that Holliday hasn’t watched The Real Housewives of Orange County at all.
Dr. Jen Armstrong and husband Ryne Holliday separated after filming ‘RHOC’
Armstrong and Holliday are still married. But this doesn’t mean all is well in their marriage. In fact, the two separated after wrapping the filming for RHOC. Dr. Jen told Us Magazine that the separation was a good thing for their relationship. “I think that made us have more of an appreciation for who the other person was and have a different outlook on getting back together and putting in the work to stay together,” she explained.
A month later, the two reunited, ready to work on things. Dr. Jen admits that some of what the fans say is true. She wishes Holliday would be more supportive concerning some aspects of her life. But as Armstrong points out, fans don’t see everything. “A lot of people have reached out and said, ‘Oh, you deserve better. How do you let him treat you that way?’ But they’re not in the day to day. They don’t know the history,” she stated.
If ‘The Real Housewives of Orange County’ doesn’t work out, Dr. Jen has her career as a cosmetic MD
It isn’t clear if Armstrong will stay on RHOC. She claims she didn’t like having a “magnifying glass” put up to her relationship, so she may bow out. Fans still aren’t completely sold on Dr. Jen as a character on the show either, so her exit wouldn’t be the end of the world for a lot of Real Housewives fans. Some feel she didn’t bring enough drama and was a boring addition.
Plus, Dr. Jen has a busy career to fall back on if she doesn’t continue filming with RHOC. That is, if she’s able to settle some of her legal troubles. Armstrong is being sued by two patients, according to The Sun. One claims that an unlicensed doctor assisted Armstrong during her procedure. Another patient is suing because Armstrong allegedly botched a procedure and caused her harm.
