‘RHOC’ Alum Meghan King Reportedly Splits From Husband Cuffe Biden Owens, Joe Biden’s Nephew, 2 Months After Wedding
Meghan King has reportedly split from her husband after two months of marriage. The Real Housewives of Orange County alum married Cuffe Biden Owens in October and a source is now confirming that the couple is headed for divorce. Owens is the nephew of current United States president Joe Biden. King made her relationship with Owens Instagram official on Sep. 25, 2021.
Meghan King and husband are headed for divorce?
King had been coy about her love life following a messy divorce from her ex-husband Jim Edmonds. The pair chronicled their marriage throughout their run on RHOC. After King introduced her new significant other in September, it was on Oct. 11 that the couple tied the knot. Many fans were surprised by the quick turnaround and are now puzzled by news of their possible divorce.
“She has told friends they broke up,” a source told Page Six.
As of now, neither party has addressed the reports of their split but Owens’ absence from King’s Instagram feed is apparent. King has been posting photos of her kids on Christmas and her husband is nowhere to be found. This is in contrast to other holidays, like Halloween, when King shared an Instagram post where everyone wore a costume.
The last picture that King shared with Owens was on Nov. 24 when the family took a trip to Sea World in San Diego, California. King was celebrating her daughter’s birthday at the Southern Californian amusement park.
Meghan King and Cuffe Biden Owens met on a dating app
King opened up about her relationship with Owens in an interview with Brides where she revealed that they met on a dating app. It wasn’t long before the couple was meeting the parents and soon thereafter became inseparable.
“We connected on a dating app, texted for a day or two, then spent five straight hours on the phone the first time we spoke,” she told the publication. “By the time that call ended, Cuffe was booked and packed for a flight to St. Louis that took off in about eight hours. Within a week, we were back on the East Coast, meeting his family, and starting to plan our future together. We didn’t leave each other’s side for weeks.”
King then said what the wedding meant to the couple and why they were tying the knot adding, “Our love for and commitment to each other, and our family—each of our families, and the new very large and very tight family that we were bonding together by getting married. That’s it.”
Meghan King’s previous divorce
Neither King nor Owens has confirmed if the reports of their split are true. However, many are hoping King didn’t find out the same way she found out she was getting a divorce from Edmonds — through the media.
“How did this tabloid have so much personal information? How did it know Jim had filed for divorce?” King wrote in her blog post in October 2019. “Once again, the tabloids knew more about my marriage than I did.”
King added, “I’m disgusted by what has surfaced in the media. I love my husband and I’m devastated that our marriage is being broken up in the ugliest and messiest way. I am sad that members of Jim’s family are reveling in our demise.”
