‘RHOC’: Producers Got Dragged Into Braunwyn Windham-Burke’s Fake Pregnancy Storyline
Production was consulted before the moment when Shannon Beador asked Braunwyn Windham-Burke if she was pregnant on The Real Housewives of Orange County.
Both Windham-Burke and Beador were in touch with production and Windham-Burke discussed the moment when she appeared on the Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen After Show.
“I actually called production and said by the way, ‘Shannon’s gonna think I’m pregnant,'” Windham-Burke shared when a viewer wondered if she was shocked about Beador’s query. “Because if you have a girlfriend who was doing shots with you, who suddenly is not, and has seven kids. I mean like, of course, she was.”
Shannon Beador wanted to give Braunwyn Windham-Burke a pregnancy test on camera
“So when she showed up, how supportive she was, I was really happy that she shared that story about going to Al-Anon,” Windham-Burke continued. “That made me feel a little more comfortable going myself. So that was a really special moment.”
While Windham-Burke shared that the moment was positive, former cast member Tamra Judge had an entirely different view. Judge shared on Instagram she was in touch with Windham-Burke’s mother (Dr. Deb) and Beador.
“The absolute truth is Dr. Deb sent me a DM (in Feb) on Instagram asking me how my ex husband was doing,” she shared. “I told her that it’s hard but it’s brought our family back tighter. Then I asked how her and B were doing. She simply said better now that she isn’t drinking … that’s it!!!! First week of filming when Shannon and I were still kind [of] talking, Shannon called me and said she thinks B is pregnant and she’s gonna buy her a pregnancy test and give it to her on camera.”
Tamra Judge said Beador reached out to producers about drinking
Judge added that Beador didn’t like hearing that Windham-Burke was on the wagon and was going to consult with producers. “I told her don’t bother, I don’t think she’s pregnant, her mom told me that she isn’t drinking anymore,” Judge continued in her remarks. “Shannon then contacts production and makes this big deal out of it saying, ‘We are filming a reality show she needs to drink.’ … No Shannon, not everyone needs to drink!”
Former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member Kathryn Edwards shared that consulting with producers occurred on her franchise too. “It happens, it happens,” Edwards said storylines where producers got involved.
“Everyone knows it happens,” she shared on the Behind the Velvet Rope with David Yontef podcast. “The show is highly produced. It’s not scripted. So they don’t tell you what to say. But they’re making a storyline and as things happen, they have to fill in blank spots. So the editors will say, ‘Oh, we need a scene to make this more cohesive.’ And they’ll, they’ll do a scene. And they literally like will say like, ‘We need you to kind of talk about this.’”
