As far as Real Housewives of Orange County friendships go, Vicki and Shannon’s was once the tightest. But now, Vicki Gunvalson isn’t convinced Shannon Beador will stick around.

Vicki is the most recognizable face on The Real Housewives of Orange County. The OG of the OC was on the Bravo series for 14 seasons. Although she’s not on the show anymore, she is talking about her former co-star, Shannon. Vicki doesn’t think Beador will last as long as she did on the franchise and claims she’s tough to work with.

Vicki doesn’t think Shannon will break her record

As of 2023, Vicki Gunvalson is tied for the longest-running housewife of all The Real Housewives franchises. She held an orange for 13 years but let it go in season 14 when she was demoted to a “friend of” role. The only other housewife to match Vicki is Ramona Singer on The Real Housewives of New York City.

On Vicki’s RHOC franchise, none of the current housewives come close to matching her longevity. The most veteran star right now is Shannon. When Gunvalson made an appearance on Access Hollywood’s Housewive Nightcap in 2021, the former reality star mentioned Shannon coming close.

“How many people can say they were on a TV reality show for 14 years? I got Shannon coming in up my a**,” Gunvalson said.

The hosts of the online show said they didn’t understand how Shannon had such staying power, to which Vicki added, “I don’t either.”

“She’s tough to work with. I think she’s on season seven now, so she’s got a long way to go. I don’t think she’ll hit 14,” Vicki added.

Despite Vicki’s prediction, Shannon made it to RHOC Season 17. But her behavior both on the show and off led to calls for her to leave the franchise.

Are Shannon and Vicki still friends?

During the same interview, Vicki talked about her fallout with Shannon. Both stars were seemingly close-knit but it might have just been a friendship for the cameras. Vicki recalls that Shannon stopped talking to her when the latter moved forward with RHOC and the OG was fired.

“Shannon stopped talking to us right away, right when she got asked back,” Vicki said. “She never would return a call. She never would text back. Nothing, nothing nothing.”

Vicki admitted that she doesn’t think Shannon has bad blood toward her but confessed that friends close to her warned her about Shannon.

“I think Shannon easily discards her friends and that was something I knew about her very early on,” Vicki admitted. “One of her friends had told me — that had been friends with her for 20 years — that as soon as she got on the show, she stopped talking to her. Like how do people discard friends? My friends from high school and college are still my friends. Regardless if I’m on the show or not, they’re still my friends. [Beador’s friend] just said be careful and don’t get too close. So that was sad.”

The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 18 cast hasn’t been confirmed yet. So there’s still a chance that Vicki and Shannon will come together, if only in the Bravo record books.
