‘RHONJ’: Danielle Staub Says Teresa Giudice is the Reason She’s No Longer on the Show
Fans of The Real Housewives of New Jersey will always remember the contributions of Danielle Staub. For many, Staub was the cast member viewers loved to hate. Her rollercoaster relationship with Teresa Giudice came to final halt after it was revealed Giudice played a role in Staub pulling Margaret Jospehs’ hair. Staub says Giudice is the reason she is no longer on the show and will never return.
Danielle Staub explains why Teresa Giudice played a part in her decision to leave ‘RHONJ’
Staub quit the show following Season 2 to return in Season 8. Viewers will never forget the infamous table flip during the season 1 finale, where Giudice became enraged that Staub told her to pay attention. In an interview on Carlos King’s podcast Reality With the King, King told Staub that Giudice would agree that the moment solidified Giudice’s career in reality TV.
“That is her career, that’s all she’s known for: the table flip and dissing Danielle out of a paycheck – the person that put her on the map,” she told King. When King asked Staub whether Giudice is responsible for her not being on the show, the former supermodel had a lot to say. Staub explained:
Teresa’s responsible for not allowing what happened to me happen twice because she sat in front of my daughter on camera and promised that would never happen again, that she would have my back. I had her back until I realized she’s stomping on me and using me as an excuse for that hair pull, which ended our friendship and I didn’t blame her for it and I took responsibility for it. It was my actions…because of the misunderstanding and for her being mad at me keeping her secret…and then on top of that, her thinking, ‘Oh, they’re not going to show that.’ In other words, she thought it was all going to be hidden, alis l going to be fine, Danielle’s going to go down again. And then when I saw the out fall of that, she wouldn’t talk to me after that. She literally took down every photo of us together and blocked me while we were still filming.
She says Teresa Giudice and her former cast mates made her an outcast in the early seasons to keep their secrets from being exposed
Viewers will never forget how Staub was ostracized by the cast in Seasons 1 and 2 due to a book, Cop Without a Badge, being released that allegedly detailed Staub’s criminal past. Initially, she was close friends with Jacqueline Laurita, but their friendship ended when Staub says Laurita chose loyalty to her family over her.
After Staub quit the show the first time around, the cast dealt with major issues. Giudice and her husband were indicted for bankruptcy fraud and sentenced to separate jail sentences. Rumors about the Manzo family having mob ties ran rampant. And eventually, Dina became estranged from both Caroline and Laurita altogether. Staub says she was used as the scapegoat in earlier seasons.
“I think that I was an easy pawn for them for their story that they wanted to drive. If I’m being 100% completely honest, I was their person to put blame on for all the things that they needed to hide while I was in sweep under the rug, while I was thinking we were creating a friendship,” she told King.
When King asked Staub to confirm whether or not she believed the cast used the book to hide what they were going through in their own lives, Staub responded, “100%.”
Why she says she’ll never be on ‘RHONJ’ again
Staub quit the show for the second and final time live during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen. She cited being made the villain as the reason. Though she says she won’t appear on that franchise again, she’s open to others.
