‘RHONJ’: Joe Giudice Shares Video of How Italians Are Honoring Those Who Have Died
Joe Giudice from The Real Housewives of New Jersey shared a video of an Italian couple hanging a flag on their balcony as “Taps” is heard playing in the background.
“I am posting this to bring awareness if we learn nothing else from this tragedy, we learn that life is short and there is no time for hate or greed,” Giudice wrote on Instagram along with the emotional video. “The smallest act of service, the simplest act of kindness, is a way to honor each other or those we lost around the world, a way to reclaim that spirit of unity italy held a Ceremony with a nation outside our balconies to honor the lives lost due Coronavirus.”
Giudice was deported back to his home country of Italy after serving prison time for fraud. This fall, cameras captured the emotional reunion with his wife Teresa and his daughters in Italy. But now that the country is on lockdown, Giudice rides out the virus with extended family and documents life in Italy on Instagram.
Giudice has documented life in Italy
Giudice has shared Instagram videos on a regular basis. He initially scoffed at the notion of locking down the country due to the coronavirus. “More people die from Viagra (heart attacks and drug overdose) everyday than this Corona virus 🦠. People here are frantic because government is ridiculous with 🔒down !!!! Sorry Lock down not for me Never again !!!!! Stay safe 🌎 eat healthy, exercise, and no shaking hands . 🧼 👏!” he shared along with a video on March 10. He walked empty streets insisting he had to go to work.
Giudice likely got heat for his original post as fans admonished him for not sheltering in place. He clarified in another video. “I am not moving around the country. I am obeying the law going to work, shopping for family, and NO cafes, gym, and places like that,” he shared along with another video. “Don’t be afraid,” he insisted in the video.
He added the next day, “I feel the government’s can stop this ( only co. Making 💴 internet base and stocks) ! set us free! I didn’t imply humans dumb! There is a cure it should not lead to humans being 🔒or caged! Our society is loosing face to face conversation cause of 📱 please don’t allow fear to take our social skills! 😡you’s don’t see my view nice to get a hello 👋 in the streets after seeing four walls. April will be a 💉 🦠 🙏🌎.”
He is passing time with friends and family
Giudice’s first videos were shot before the entire country was on lockdown. He gave his thoughts on the official shutdown in a video adding, “The update here! People can work only praying 🙏 this will be better soon. Nonna said no visits till bann is lifted.” He met with friends in the mountains to play cards.
He also passed the time hunting for asparagus along the Italian countryside. “We’re hunting for asparagus,” he shared as he talks to another man digging into the side of a hill. “Those are wild asparagus.” Giudice also sang with friends and neighbors from their balconies.
Only days ago he posted this update. “Stay safe try not to go to public places!!!In past week, the 🦠 has not been spreading because we are following all guidelines placed! Stay indoors as much as possible! go out for a quick fresh air and food run.”
