‘RHONJ’: Melissa Gorga Admits To Considering Divorce Amid Marital Trouble
For years, Joe and Melissa Gorga coined themselves as the sexy and fun couple of RHONJ. But this season, the cracks in their marriage are starting to show. Melissa says their issues stem from simple growing pains and admits that divorce has been considered.
Some of Joe and Melissa Gorga’s marital trouble has been featured on the show
Much of the Gorgas issues during their first few seasons on the show centered around their ongoing family feud with Joe and Teresa Giudice. For years, Teresa accused Melissa of brainwashing her brother Joe and turning him against her.
On the other hand, the Gorgas alleged that Teresa was jealous of her younger sister-in-law and determined to break up their family. Rumors spread like wildfire that Teresa was behind a rumor of Melissa being a former exotic dancer – and a golddigger.

Once the dust settled between the family, Joe grew leary of Melissa’s booming entrepreneurial spirit. He often talked down to her regarding her desire to work, referring to the money she brought in from her clothing boutique as “crumbs.”
Melissa outgrew Joe’s old-fashioned values. While she admits to struggling with balancing work and home, she says Joe was resistant to the process completely. Per Melissa, Joe was spoiled from years of her catering to him as a husband. She also claims he was unappreciative of her contributions.
Melissa Gorga says divorce was thrown around but never seriously considered
Melissa admits this season shows the toughest spot in her marriage thus far. In a recent interview with Access Hollywood, “We definitely hit a rut,” she says. “For like a year or two and I feel like that’s raw and honest and I was embarrassed at first that we had this argument on camera and we’re kind of showing that we’re suffering. But, at the same time, we’re not perfect and I don’t mind showing that we’re really in a rut.”
Melissa says season 11 is the “lowest” point of her marriage. She attributes their issues to growing pains.
“I’ve been with Joe since I was 24 – that’s very young,” Melissa explains. “You do change as a woman from 24 to 40.”

As for whether divorce was brought to the table, Melissa says the thought crossed their minds. She says she contemplated whether or not she’d be better single or what life would be like had she chosen someone else.
“I don’t know how seriously it’s come up,” she says. “Have we brought it up and gasped about it? Probably. But, nothing has ever happened to us other than these highs and lows. I’m busier than I’ve ever been and that probably affects him. He admits that there’s insecurities…men need to understand that we don’t necessarily need you, we want you. It’s just different. He doesn’t like change.”
Overall, Melissa says she and Joe are in a better place and have regrouped since filming.
