‘RHONJ’ Star Melissa Gorga Reveals the ‘Unfortunate’ Truth of Her Relationship with Teresa Giudice in New Interview: ‘We’re Both Happy Apart’
The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast members have seen no shortage of drama through the years, but the most obvious feud has been between Melissa Gorga and her sister-in-law, Teresa Giudice. Teresa and Melissa’s drama goes back to before either of them even joined the show, and unfortunately, it has remained a steady part of their storyline with the exception of a handful of seasons.
Now, Melissa Gorga reveals that it’s “unfortunate” that she will not be spending the holidays with Teresa — and that they’re both “happy” without each other.

Melissa and Teresa have always had drama, and fans of one cast member often blame the other cast member for the issues. Teresa and her brother, Joey Gorga, remained close for years, but once he married Melissa, things changed. Eventually, Melissa joined the RHONJ cast, and the sisters-in-law took their issues to the small screen. But the biggest falling out occurred when Teresa, Joey, and Louis all attempted to go into business together with a pizzeria, and it ultimately didn’t work out.
Now, Melissa Gorga is making it clear that she and her husband don’t have any part in Teresa and Louis’ lives — and that it’s what makes them all happier. In an interview with Good Day New York, Melissa was asked if she’d be seeing Teresa for Christmas.
“No,” Melissa said. “I know that’s unfortunate because we have a love of family, all of us, but it’s just something that that ship has sailed for us, and I think we’re both happy apart, unfortunately.”
Melissa then added that it’s “sad” for the kids, but it’s not something they dwell on. “Of course, yeah, that’s always the saddest,” she said of the children growing apart. “But I think everyone’s OK. It’s not too much of a sad story anymore. I feel like she’s [Teresa] happy; this is what she wanted; she’s now got it. So, this is it.”

Of course, the question on fans’ minds is whether the show will see yet another dramatic season. Melissa didn’t say much, and it seems like she doesn’t know yet. “Mum’s the word,” she said when asked if filming would start up again. Melissa added that the show has been on “pause,” which has allowed her time to focus on other business ventures (including her new sprinkle cookies), but that she thinks the cast will know more in the new year.
For now, Melissa is focused on selling her sprinkle cookies, which are a longtime favorite of hers — but fans also can’t help but recall the moment when Teresa told her friends that she threw the sprinkle cookies Melissa gave her “in the garbage.” Regardless, it looks like fans won’t see Teresa and Melissa spending time together any day soon.
