The reality star said things already weren’t going well between her and her estranged husband, Marty Caffrey before they got married. However, she went through with the wedding because she had hope things would change.

You slide to the end and you hit cars,” Danielle Staub explained to Us Weekly. “Well, that’s what I’m doing. It’s not me hitting rock bottom, it’s me wanting to get rid of this whole thing because I thought that getting married might make it a little better. I thought he’d feel more secure. … I kept waiting, like most women do and most men do, you wait for that person to turn back into the person you fell in love with.”

She has accused Caffrey of being abusive

Caffrey filed for divorce and accused her of maliciousness. “He turned it on me,” Staub continued. “He needs to lash out. He’s not a well man. He’s really not a well man and I did everything that he wanted me to do to try to end this peacefully.”

Staub responded in court by claiming Caffrey recorded her during sex without her knowledge then threatened to expose the videos, according to Us Weekly. She also claimed he “repeatedly mocked and harassed [her] for being sexually abused by [her] father as a child” and would hold her down while “violently screaming derogatory comments in her face.”

Caffrey responded to the allegations

The businessman gave a response to the allegations to Us Weekly by referring to it as “slander” and a “fabrication.” The statement reads:

I expected Danielle to go this route. She’s in a panic when I refused to drop the divorce and the negative blowback she’s been receiving after attacking my kids. But only Danielle Staub’s mind is capable of fabricating this type of stuff. She wanted to reconcile three days ago and told me she loved me. If I were guilty of any of these things, why would you want to reconcile? Danielle will go to any depth to slander people and be the victim. Bringing her daughters into this? I feel sorry for them. Be a mother! None of this is accurate or even close to the truth. This is simply Danielle Staub trying to take people out like she has in her past, but it’s not going to work this time.

The two are continuing to go to court in order to finalize their divorce.
