Leah McSweeney From ‘RHONY’ Slams Ramona Singer’s Daughter: ‘Sit Down Sweetie’
Leah McSweeney and Ramona Singer are having issues on The Real Housewives of New York City. During episode 9 of season 12, the ladies took a trip to Newport, Rhode Island. Things got a little out of control for the Married to the Mob fashion label founder as she lost control of her drinking. A confrontation with Singer only made the atmosphere tenser and now Singer’s daughter is involved and McSweeney clapped back.
What caused drama for Leach McSweeney and Ramona Singer?
On the latest episode of RHONY, McSweeney is going through a breakup that has her mood down. Singer planned a getaway to get to know her fellow co-stars in a more intimate way. However, when McSweeney asked Singer if she could invite her sister to the trip, the skincare venturer opposed the idea.
Later that same day, Singer caved in and told McSweeney could invite her sibling. As the night settled and the girls sat down for dinner, McSweeney was completely lost and acting zany. Singer was not having McSweeney’s antics and on top of that, she wanted to disinvite her sister to the trip.
After pulling her off to the side, Singer realized that it was important for McSweeney to have her sister there and had another change of heart.
Avery Singer gets involved and Leah McSweeney claps back
As Singer and her daughter Avery watched the episode, the latter recorded herself reacting to the episode. Aver said she was embarrassed for her mom as she had to see McSweeney get dragged on the floor, and continued to drink uncontrollably.
When McSweeney started getting live reactions during the episode, someone forwarded Avery’s Instagram videos. The fashion designer was not too keen on Singer involving her daughter and made it known on social media.
“Ramona, are you sure you wanna involve Avery Singer in our drama? She’s 25 so she’s fair game to me. In fact, I’m closer in age to her [than] I am to you,” McSweeney wrote.
“Seriously, why are you involving [your] daughter?” a second message read.
“Avery Singer, sit down sweetie,” read a third message where she mentioned Singer’s daughter.
When another fan called out McSweeney for “attacking a child,” she swiftly replied saying, “A child? I had a 1-year-old and a business at age 25.”
Leah McSweeney had prefaced all the drama on Instagram
Hours before the episode went live on Bravo, McSweeney posted on Instagram a warning to all of her followers. She advised that “Hurricane Leah” was about to land and it wasn’t going to be pretty.
“I want to preface this episode by saying I went on this trip to Rhode Island not really wanting to even go,” she wrote on the social platform. “I didn’t know the women that well at this point and I was in an already-vulnerable mood.”
McSweeney said she wanted her sister there as she wanted a “baby-free overnight trip” as she had just had her baby six months before.
“Tune in tonight for Ramona. Watch her get embarrassed by my ‘bad’ behavior,” McSweeney added. “Yes, you heard it right, the woman who defecated on hotel room floors (and expects others to clean it up), who calls her own friends fat, and who tries to flex on [Instagram] during a pandemic, is supposedly embarrassed that I got sh**faced.”
The Rhode Island trip continues next Thursday when The Real Housewives of New York City returns at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo.
