‘RHONY’: Luann De Lesseps Finally Breaks Silence on All the Carole Radziwill Shade
Luann de Lesseps is one of the stars of The Real Housewives of New York City and has been there since the beginning. Over the past year the Countess has received criticism from one of her former co-stars. Carole Radziwill called De Lesseps a “maskless idiot” recently. Now the “Feelin’ Jovani” hitmaker is clapping back and shading back too.
Why has Carole Radziwill been critical of Luann de Lesseps?
Radziwill was an icon on RHONY, having already been an accomplished journalist, she took on a role as a housewife. The best-selling author signed up to be on Bravo, sort of ironically, and she did it for six seasons. Since leaving the show, Radizwill has not held back into really expressing her opinions about her former co-stars.
Back in August 2020, she threw shade at Megyn Kelly for defending the cops that shot Jacob Blake for thinking he was armed with a knife. Radiziwill quoted Kelly’s tweet and slammed her reminding everyone why she was let go from NBC.
“This just in from a woman who was fired for defending Luann de Lesseps wearing BLACKFACE to a RHONY party,” Radziwill tweeted. “Word is the knife was planted in the car by the cops. Sit down Megyn Kelly.”
RHONY fans remember that back in season 10, De Lesseps dressed up as Diana Ross for a costume party. Her face looked like it was darker and Radziwill called her out at the time for looking like she had done “blackface.”
At the time, De Lesseps apologized for the incident and said she was just darker due to her bronzer but she wasn’t intentionally doing “blackface.” Recalling that moment in 2020 was not something De Lesseps probably wanted.
Earlier this year it was reported that the Countess was partying down in Florida and was seen around a group of people not wearing a mask. De Lesseps called her out once again for not being aware of the global pandemic affecting us all.
“Trump is gone but the maskless idiots remain,” Radziwill tweeted. “At least they are all in one place. Good luck Florida.”
Luann de Lesseps fires back
While talking about the new season of RHONY, De Lesseps was a guest on the Behind the Velvet Rope with David Yontef podcast. During the interview, the “Viva La Diva” singer said that although she has drama on the show, she stays away from it on social media. She then mentions Radziwill firing back at all the attacks she has made on Twitter.
“I don’t get involved in that,” she said. “I feel like social media can be great, but the downside of that is people attack each other from their computers and I think that’s just not my vibe. And you see Carole Radziwill makes negative comments about Bravo, and me, and I don’t even engage because she’s not worth my energy.”
Luann de Lesseps is not the only housewife Carole Radziwill shades
At one point, Radziwill was the closest with Bethenny Frankel. However, their friendship ended sometime during season 10 and it was all documented. Since then, Radziwill has also thrown shade at her former friend.
“We developed a genuine friendship,” Radziwill claimed on Life After Bravo. “She’s high energy and she’s very strategic and she talks a lot, which is great because I wasn’t a big talker. So in a friendship like that, I would listen, listen, listen, listen.”
Radizwill also said that she wasn’t surprised her friendship with Frankel “blew up” as the latter had a difficult time accepting “boundaries” the former had set. In addition, Radziwill said that thanks to her relationship with the Skinnygirl founder, she is now able to “recognize narcissists from a mile away.”
