‘RHONY’: Tinsley Mortimer Puts Wedding Planning on Pause
Tinsley Mortimer from The Real Housewives of New York City is another bride in wedding planning limbo. She recently shared that she backed away from making wedding plans to Scott Kluth due to uncertainty with the pandemic.
Mortimer and Kluth dated on and off, which was documented on the show. Last season, the couple seemingly broke up, but reconciled and got engaged in November. Mortimer shared a photo of the big moment on Instagram. “I always knew it was you!!! ❤️,” she wrote along with a photo. Kluth is down on one knee and a small group of singers serenaded the couple in the background.
She quickly moved to Chicago, fueling rumors she would not return to RHONY after this season. But she recalled how she met Kluth on the show and is thankful. “Three years ago tonight was our #RHONY blind date… so of course we decided to be dorks and wear the same outfits!🥰 👉,” she shared in February.
They enjoyed their engagement
Mortimer told Bravo’s The Daily Dish that after their engagement, they had the holidays and did some traveling. “We got engaged at the end of November. And, we kind of were like OK, well, we started to talk about different plans and things. And then we were like let’s get through his busiest time with his business through Christmas,” she said.
But then they were still trying to figure out where to have the nuptials. “So, it was just like OK, we’ll just have to enjoy being engaged,” she continued. “And so that’s what we did. And then we traveled a bit and stuff after Christmas, which was so nice.”
Adding, “And we started to talk about some plans,” she said. “And we know we want to do it small, but then even in January all the stuff, this is when it [was] starting to happen in China with Wuhan and stuff. And we had considered doing something actually in Japan. [That] was kind of one of our first plans.”
Wedding plans are on hold
Mortimer said the couple shifted away from a Japan wedding and were in the midst of exploring other ideas. “So we started to shift off of that plan and then we were talking about other things,” she said. “And now it’s just difficult. It’s really difficult to try to plan anything, even a couple weeks from now,” she said. “You know what I mean?”
But she’s not upset or worried. But rather she’s thankful to be together with Kluth and their dogs. “I’m happy that we’re together and we’re healthy and we’re here with our dogs. And so I can’t complain and we want a small wedding, so we’ll be able to, once we know more about what’s going on, we’ll be able to plan it hopefully quickly. And we’re thinking something in the summer, so still. But we, you know, again, we just don’t know,” she said.
She’s even on board with something lowkey. “Look, if we just even do something at home and it’s just us. We’ll figure it out,” she said. “We’re happy being together and we’ll just see.”
The Real Housewives of New York City will premiere on April 2 at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
