‘RHOP’: Gizelle Bryant Admits She Blew Candiace Dillard’s ‘Monster’ Comment Out of Proportion
In the fourth episode of The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 5, Candiace Dillard and Gizelle Bryant got into an argument over a comment the former pageant beauty made about her. After the episode aired, Bryant admitted she blew the remark out of proportion.
Candiace Dillard called Gizelle Bryant a ‘monster’
In The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 5, 33-year-old Candiace Dillard introduced the viewers and the other housewives to her friend, assistant professor Dr. Wendy Osefo, at her anniversary party.
She almost immediately hit it off with Robyn Dixon, Monique Samuels, and Ashley Darby as the two both have a newborn around the same age. However, she and Karen Huger got off on the wrong foot as the political commentator feels the Grand Dame acts shady toward her.
In a recent episode, the assistant professor met Dillard for lunch, and the newlywed filled her friend in on the other women. When describing Gizelle Bryant, she called her “shady” and “the Gizelle monster.”
Osefo later brought it up to Dixon when they met up for a play date.

The ladies hung out at a park in Episode 4 with both of their two sons who played football together as they chatted. After talking about their kids getting athletic scholarships, the conversation turned to the argument at Ashley Darby’s sip-and-see that resulted in Dillard storming out of the apartment.
Osefo described it as “crazy,” and Dixon thought the 33-year-old behaved disrespectfully. The political commentator defended her friend and pointed out that anyone would feel attacked if three people were coming at them at one time.
Dixon then asked what Dillard said about the other housewives, and the assistant professor admitted the 33-year-old called Bryant “the Gizelle monster.” She also stated that the newlywed described the EveryHue Beauty owner as someone with a “dominant personality.”
Osefo also told Dixon her friend didn’t care for Darby and liked Huger. The conversation closed with the political commentator pointing out that she thinks the Grand Dame puts on a “persona” when Huger claims she’s enjoying an active sex life.
Gizelle Bryant admitted she blew the comment out of proportion
After Osefo spilled the beans about what Dillard said, Dixon almost immediately told her best friend. The ladies then tried to squash the issue at Huger’s upcoming welcome back to Potomac party.
Bryant told the newlywed she thought the “mean monster” comment was “wrong, rude, and immature.” Even though Dillard insisted she didn’t intend for the remark to come across as “malicious,” the mother-of-three still felt offended.
Therefore, she told the former pageant queen she doesn’t want to have a “deep” relationship with Dillard but promised she didn’t have a problem with the 33-year-old either.
The newlywed attempted to defend herself by pointing out that Bryant has done “not nice” things in the past. Not wanting to argue, the mother-of-three started to end the conversation before Dillard apologized.
Even though she seemingly accepted the apology, the ladies parted in sour ways. After watching the episode, Bryant admitted through a tweet that she blew the situation with Dillard out of proportion due to “a bad case of telephone.”
While some fans agree, others think Bryant reacted appropriately to being called a “monster.” The Real Housewives of Potomac airs Sundays at 9 p.m. EST on Bravo. Follow Tamara Grant on Twitter.
