Monique Samuels and Gizelle Bryant have never been exactly close since the podcaster first joined Real Housewives of Potomac in the second season. According to several sources, Bryant sided with Candiace Dillard in the fight against Samuels and refused to film with the Not For Lazy Moms owner.

Therefore, the two finished the fifth season, not on speaking terms. In a tweet announcing the postponement of Season 5, Samuels scratched out Bryant and Dillard’s faces in a reposted edited photo. The former first lady took offense to Samuels’ actions and later addressed them on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.

Gizelle Bryant and Monique Samuels’ relationship on ‘RHOP’

Original housewife Gizelle Bryant and Monique Samuels got off on the wrong foot when the entrepreneur joined Real Housewives of Potomac in the second season.

Samuels felt like Bryant threw shade at her during their first meeting, and the two were never able to get back on the same page. When Samuels reached out first and invited Bryant to a party at her house, she ended up kicking the mother-of-three out after she believed the original housewife spoke ill of her.

The Not For Lazy Moms owner also got into it with housewife and Bryant’s best friend, Robyn Dixon, putting another strain on their relationship. In the trailers for the upcoming season, the former first lady expressed the most disappointment in Samuels because she got into a physical altercation with co-star Candiace Dillard.

According to sources, Dillard, Bryant, and Dixon all refused to film with Samuels after the fight, hoping to get the podcaster removed from the show.

Even though Real Housewives of Potomac finished filming before the coronavirus (COVID-19) government mandates shut production down, the premiere of the highly anticipated fifth season has been delayed due to the pandemic.

According to executive producer Andy Cohen, they moved the series to the summer to ensure fresh content throughout the summer and fall. On an April 23rd tweet, Samuels announced the postponement of RHOP Season 5 with an edited cast photo that covered Bryant’s and Dillard’s faces with a yellow marker.

She explained she didn’t “need their faces on my page” and hoped to “provide a little humor in the midst of sadness” with the now-deleted tweet.

Gizelle Bryant calls Monique Samuels a ‘third-grader’

Nearly a month later, Bryant appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen and addressed the shady tweet. First, she explained she hadn’t seen Samuels “in a long time,” which doesn’t bother her.

Then, the EveryHue Beauty owner acknowledged the edited picture and claimed Samuels’ coloring actions show “everyone she’s a third-grader.” She also noted the podcaster “clearly feels a certain way” about Bryant’s face because the mother-of-three feels she has a face that should never be “scratched out.”

Additionally, Bryant called Samuels out as the housewife who has the most to answer to at the Season 5 reunion. The Not For Lazy Moms owner responded by calling Bryant’s boyfriend and ex-husband Jamal out for telling people his relationship with the housewife “is not real.”

She also admitted Bryant “pissed her off” by claiming the podcaster had the most to address at the reunion. Real Housewives of Potomac premieres Summer 2020.
