‘RHOP’ Insider Says Monique Samuels Allegedly Saved Robyn Dixon’s Job by Resigning (Exclusive)
Housewives friend and podcast host David Yontef revealed that an insider source told him Monique Samuels from The Real Housewives of Potomac may have saved Robyn Dixon‘s job by resigning.
Yontef exclusively told Showbiz Cheat Sheet he just got off the phone with a credible source who said Samuels’ exit took producers by surprise because no one anticipated that Samuels would quit the show.
“My sources from the inside tell me that Robyn lives to see another day,” Yontef shared. “By Monique resigning, which was unexpected, Robyn, who allegedly was not going to be asked back full time, now will live to see another day and is currently working on signing her contact.”
Robyn Dixon was allegedly in danger of being cut
Yontef said Dixon was originally in danger of being cut from the show. But Samuels’ surprise departure may have allowed Dixon to remain on the series.
“The way things change so rapidly in the Bravo world, we won’t know for sure until Season 6 filming starts,” Yontef said. “But our very credible sources tell us that is what is happening. No shade to Robyn but perhaps Robyn should send Monique a parting thank you gift.” Yontef featured interviews on Behind the Velvet Rope with David Yontef with both Wendy Osefo and Candiace Dillard Bassett from RHOP while the reunion aired.
Yontef’s comments on his podcast’s Instagram account started fans buzzing that Dixon was fired from the series. “Well the thing is that’s the rumor but is it confirmed – personally we don’t think so,” Yontef wrote. “It seems that way but according to us – it’s NOT yet confirmed – but yea we think so. It kinda makes sense. Think about it – Gizelle without Robin? GAME F’ing ON!!”
Robyn Dixon pushed back against claims she was fired
Dixon addressed specific comments that she was fired. “Sorry you get your news from non-credible sources,” she wrote on a screenshot she shared to her Instagram story. She added, “Don’t get too excited” to someone who seemed happy with the rumor she was cut.
The plot thickened when Dixon shared an end of the season post after rumors sparked she was leaving the show. “I am a few days late with this post but I just wanted to thank everyone for their support of RHOP season 5!!!” Dixon began her post. Adding, “Personally, it has been a privilege and blessing to share my life with you all.”
While most cast members reflect on Instagram about their season, fans and Yontef thought the post’s timing was suspicious. “After we broke that story – that post went right up,” Yontef replied to a comment on Instagram. “I think she wanted to get ahead of the story. No one believed us a few days ago. Although it’s still NOT 100 confirmed.”
