‘RHOP’: Karen Huger Blasts Gizelle Bryant’s Business: ‘You Don’t Start a Make-up Line and Have It Disappear’
Karen Huger has a decent relationship with friends Gizelle Bryant and Robyn Dixon, even though their jokes might go too far at times. During the fifth season of The Real Housewives of Potomac, Bryant seemingly mocked Huger’s ambitions to launch a wig line, and Dixon chose not to include the Grand Dame as one of her hat models. Huger responded to the Green-Eyed Bandits slights during an episode of The Wendy Williams Show.
Karen Huger at odds with Robyn Dixon and Gizelle Bryant
In 2016, Karen Huger, Robyn Dixon, and Gizelle Bryant joined the cast of The Real Housewives of Potomac for the first season. Although Huger considers herself friends with the Green-Eyed Bandits, they have bumped heads throughout the years.
For example, Bryant made a shirt making fun of Huger’s tax issues and doubted the Grand Dame when she worked on her now-successful fragrance line.
During the fifth season, Huger and the friends were on opposite sides as they wanted the OG housewife to hold Monique Samuels “accountable” for physically attacking Candiace Dillard. However, Huger wished to remain neutral and support both women as she felt the others wanted her to choose a side.
Additionally, the Grand Dame called Bryant out for not bringing her boyfriend, ex-husband Jamal, around the ladies and accused her of faking the relationship.
Huger reacted to Dixon’s ‘age-shaming’
Dixon started a hat line and invited the women to model the merchandise for her website. During the girls’ trip to Portugal, Dixon admitted she didn’t like how Huger sported the hat because she wanted a more “youthful” look.
She then announced her website relaunch in front of everyone but neglected to privately inform Huger the OG housewife wouldn’t be included. However, the Grand Dame handled it well.
Huger joined The Wendy Williams Show on Nov. 19, where she addressed Dixon cutting her out of the site. The OG housewife called it “age shaming” and claimed the business owner is doing herself a disservice because her demographic can afford the merchandise, whereas the 20-year-olds Dixon targets have to borrow money from their parents to buy her hats.
Additionally, the Grand Dame noted she made time to take the pictures without asking for payment. Even so, Huger encouraged viewers to buy Dixon’s product to “support Black businesses” during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Huger blasted Bryant’s make-up line
The OG housewife also responded to Bryant, who seemingly mocked Huger for aspiring to start another business, a wig line. She claimed the former first lady should ask her for advice regarding growing brands because Bryant’s beauty company, EveryHue, allegedly went bankrupt.
Huger blasted the housewife, noting, “You don’t start a make-up line and have it disappear without saying bye to your customers who supported you.”
The Grand Dame also insisted Bryant’s product was “liquidated.” Bryant or representatives from the now-defunct line have not addressed the current state of their company.
However, the website that once sold the products is no longer registered, lending more proof to the theory that EveryHue went out of business. The Real Housewives of Potomac airs Sundays at 9/8c on Bravo.
