During The Real Housewives of Potomac season 5, the other ladies, namely Karen Huger, questioned Gizelle Bryant about her personal life and thought she faked the rekindled romance with her ex-husband. In a December 2020 interview, Huger admitted she thought Bryant might be having a hard time following the season and implied the OG housewife could have developed a drinking problem.

Karen Huger and Gizelle Bryant were at odds during ‘RHOP’ season 5

Before joining the first season of The Real Housewives of Potomac in 2016, Karen Huger and Gizelle Bryant knew each other as they ran in the same circles. However, they’ve had several disagreements throughout their time on the series.

During season 5, the two continued to bump heads as Bryant thought Huger should have condemned Monique Samuels more for getting violent with Candiace Dillard and didn’t think the fragrance owner maintained a neutral stance.

Additionally, Bryant reunited with her ex-husband Jamal but didn’t bring him around the ladies, leading Huger to believe the OG housewife wasn’t honest about the relationship.

She attempted to bring it up several times, but Bryant shut the conversation down and insisted Jamal didn’t need to hang out with her friends.

Huger called Bryant out for abandoning her make-up line

Following the premiere of the Nov. 16, 2020 episode, the Grand Dame remotely appeared on The Wendy Williams Showwhere she addressed co-star Robyn Dixon cutting her out of the website and Bryant, who seemingly mocked Huger for her multiple business ventures in a confessional.

The Grand Dame responded by claiming Bryant could use advice because her beauty company, EveryHue, allegedly declared bankruptcy. Additionally, Huger called out the former first lady for reportedly abandoning the business without notifying the customers.

A month later, Bryant answered her questions during the season 5 reunion and claimed the COVID-19 pandemic put her products’ manufacturer out of business.

Although she didn’t clarify if EveryHue officially closed, its website is no longer registered.

After the second part of the reunion, Huger appeared on comedian and actress Luenell’s Instagram Live for an interview. When asked who she considered the “thirstiest,” the OG housewife quickly answered Bryant. She later clarified why, explaining she thought the successful “platform” might have caused the former first lady to lose sight of things.

Huger continued, claiming she has known Bryant for several years and sensed “frustration” and “bitterness” in the Green-Eyed Bandit. The fragrance owner believes the emotions resulted in Bryant becoming defensive this season, which Huger claims made it difficult to speak with her.

While Huger noted she hasn’t spoken to Bryant since the reunion, she has seen the former first lady and doesn’t think she looks healthy. The Grand Dame described the Potomac housewife as “bloated,” which she believes could be an effect of drinking too much alcohol. Huger pointed out that Bryant had a difficult season as the ladies speculated about her personal life for the first time in the series.

Additionally, Bryant is still dealing with the fallout from Samuels’ bombshell regarding Jamal possibly dating another woman while claiming he rekindled his romance with his ex-wife. Therefore, the fragrance owner believes Bryant might be going through a hard time following season five, although she has yet to talk to the OG housewife.
