The Real Housewives of Potomac stars Wendy Osefo and Karen Huger haven’t seen eye to eye during the fifth season, even though they have a history together. While many fans think the drama between them dates to Huger claiming she didn’t know Osefo, the Grand Dame claims another issue is at the root of their dissension. The fragrance owner says she will reveal the real problem between the ladies at the season 5 reunion.

Wendy Osefo wanted Karen Huger to hold Monique Samuels accountable

Newest housewife Wendy Osefo and OG Karen Huger started on the wrong foot because the Grand Dame claimed she didn’t know the political commentator.

On the other hand, Osefo asserts they have a history of serving on the same board together. When former friends Candiace Dillard and Monique Samuels got into a physical altercation, Osefo disagreed with how Huger handled the situation.

The political commentator felt the fragrance owner should’ve held Samuels “accountable” for her actions.

However, Huger believes Osefo wanted her to choose a side, something the OG housewife didn’t want to do due to her friendships with Dillard and Samuels.

Osefo believed Huger mocked her degrees

Shortly later, Osefo told Gizelle Bryant that Huger shared with her and a few other housewives that she “soldiered up” and financially helped her husband pay his taxes.

In a conversation where Bryant relayed the information back to Huger, the Grand Dame sarcastically questioned if Osefo, who has a Ph.D., was an actual doctor.

Bryant repeated the comments back to the newest housewife, who got offended because she believed Huger mocked her for having four degrees. The ladies got into a heated exchange about it before the OG housewife suppressed it with laughter by making fun of the way Osefo “slithered” when interrupting a conversation with Dillard.

A week later, the housewives, minus Samuels, left for their cast vacation to Portugal, and Huger made sure to sit next to Osefo for the duration of the 19-hour flight.

Huger will reveal the real issue between her and Osefo at the reunion

In a Nov. 9 interview with Reality Chat, Huger touched on the actual problem between her and Osefo. She described it as an “ethical issue” and insisted it has “nothing to do with academic accolades.”

The fragrance owner claimed they “touched on it,” but it didn’t make the episodes because it wasn’t as “TV worthy” as the altercation or other issues that were explored throughout the season.

She also noted she did reach out to Osefo and invited her to dinner but says the newest housewife declined because she wanted it to be caught on camera and “authentic.” However, Huger thinks the issue at hand doesn’t need to be televised as she believes it won’t “look good” on Osefo.

While the Grand Dame wished they would have “settled” it behind the scenes, she claimed she would bring it up at the reunion or during the sixth season if it is renewed. The Real Housewives of Potomac airs Sundays at 9/8c on Bravo.
