‘RHOP’: Karen Huger Slams Gizelle Bryant for Saying She Was on the Fence in Candiace Dillard, Monique Samuels Feud
Karen Huger of The Real Housewives of Potomac is a fan-favorite cast member. The Grande Dame, as she calls herself, is the epitome of class and elegance. Huger is the one the rest of the ladies look up to, try to emulate, and seek her guidance. However, after Candiace Dillard and Monique Samuels got into a physical altercation many believed she was on the fence. Huger is now clapping back at all the criticism against her.
Why is Karen Huger getting heat?
A feud erupted on RHOP when Dillard and Samuels got into a physical altercation that shook everyone on the show. Huger was put in quite a predicament as she is great friends with Samuels. The Grande Dame denounced the brawl but the rest of the ladies feel that she should be going harder on Samuels as she is the one that reached over to grab Dillard.
Gizelle Bryant said on the RHOP After Show that she didn’t understand Huger. When they had a conversation with Samuels, Bryant believed Huger was inclined to saying she didn’t think she had done anything wrong. However, Bryant pointed out that Huger suggested Dillard press charges for the physical assault.
Huger then added a video where she is seen telling Samuels that she “fu**ed up” but she was willing to stand by her as she was her friend. The Grande Dame also wrote a message on Instagram to make it clear to Bryant she was never on the fence.
“Let’s be clear, please stop saying that I was on the fence and that I did not choose when it came to the fight between my friends Monique and Candiace,” Huger wrote. “Oh baby, I did. I chose two wrongs don’t make a right. No explanation, just facts. Please quote that.”
The Grande Dame doesn’t take a side
Earlier this year and ahead of the RHOP Season 5 premiere, Huger made the press rounds to promote the new season. One of the major questions was about the shocking fight that rocked the housewives. Huger revealed that the brawl had repercussions for everyone.
“That altercation was a powerful moment, it had repercussions on all of the ladies,” Huger told E! Online. “But what I believe about us and I think the viewers will agree is that we’re able to work through it because we have authentic friendships and relationships that are strong enough, I believe, to carry us through.”
As the Grande Dame of Potomac, Huger felt that she had to mediate and said that she tried to remain objective throughout the difficult situation.
“Well I’m the matriarch of RHOP, I don’t have to take sides, I have to be fair,” Huger added. “I have to be objective and I have to be truthful. And oftentimes telling your friends the truth about their behavior is not easy and it’s challenging. Again, I’ll say stay tuned. Two wrongs don’t make a right and I stand by that.”
The aftermath of the feud continues to play out on The Real Housewives of Potomac every Sunday night at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
