‘RHOP’ Reportedly Looking to Add Mia Thornton to Cast

With the exit of Monique Samuels, it was clear that The Real Housewives of Potomac had to do some sort of restructuring to its cast. Now, a new report has revealed the first new cast member for the Bravo reality series, who could be added to the show as a champagne glass holder or a friend of the cast.

‘RHOP’ season 5 recap

For season 5 and its three-part reunion, most of the storyline and plot centered on the winery dust-up between Monique Samuels and Candiace Dillard Bassett. This altercation resulted in a major cast rift, with Dillard Basset, Gizelle Bryant, Robyn Dixon, and Wendy Osefo icing Samuels out. On the other hand, Ashley Darby and Karen Huger remaining friends with her.

After seeing how she was depicted and edited during the reunion, Samuels decided that she would not be returning to the show for season 6, despite getting an offer to come back to the show.

Previous rumors said that ‘RHHOP’ would be adding cast members in season 5

Per The Real Housewives of Potomac and The Real Housewives of Atlanta leak account The Peach Report Daily, the show will see a cast “reset,” hinting that at least one cast member could depart and some new women introduced.

Back in January, The Peach Report Daily said they are hearing the show is “really pulling all the stops for season 6.” According to their intel, the show had to “reset” as it was banking on Samuels to return and to pick up “where they left off with the winery fight saga, which would have become repetitive after a while.”

Samuels not coming back to the show seemingly caused the show to retool its cast a bit. “The table was ‘reset’ for season 6 after PART 3 of the reunion,” The Peach Report Daily said. “After an unexpected departure, the ‘pressure’ was on to keep that same momentum and SERVE some ‘newness’ similar to #RHOA season 5. Let’s see how these ladies ‘mesh’ in 2021.”

Who is Mia Thornton, the potential new ‘RHOP’ cast members?

The Jasmine Brand has unveiled the first potential cast member for The Real Housewives of Atlanta season 6. Mia Thornton is currently being tested to join the ladies. As the oulet reports, “Sources tell us that Mia Thornton is set to be added as either a full-time cast member or friend of the show.’

The report implies that multiple women are being tested to join in perhaps different capacities, stating, “According to sources, Mia Thornton is in the lead to be added to the show.”

Per The Jasmine Brand, Thornton is “a wife and mother…marketing director, owns a beauty/cosmetic company, and owns multiple chiropractic offices in the DMV area.” Reportedly, she is friends with Darby. Allegedly, she is friends with RHOP vet, Ashley Darby.”
