‘RHOSLC’: Heather Gay Reveals Other Insults Mary Cosby Has ‘Lobbed’ at Her for Not Having a Husband
Just when The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City seemed to be getting along, Mary Cosby and Heather Gay got into it in the “Cinco de Mayhem” episode. Bravo fans saw Cosby remind Gay of her single status, but Gay says there’s more to the conversation. Find out what else Cosby has said to Gay about her lack of a husband.
Tensions are high among the ‘RHOSLC’ cast in ‘Cinco de Mayhem’
In the Jan. 30, 2022 episode, the RHOSLC cast is still on their Mother’s Day trip in Zion and things seem to be going well. Each of the women breaks off to go hiking, ride ATVs, or have a spa day. But the peace among these women doesn’t last long.
Tensions reach an all-time high at dinner when Cosby is asked to explain why she doesn’t consider the recently fired Jennie Nguyen a friend. This stirs up some big feelings for Lisa Barlow, who again starts questioning her friendship with Meredith Marks. Soon, no one at the table is safe — including Gay, who has thus far avoided drama this season.
When Nguyen reveals Cosby’s refusal to talk about her husband or family during their spa day, Gay questions the decision. The topic of the husband’s paying for the trip comes up, to which Cosby reminds Gay: “Me and her husband’s pitched in too — what does that mean, because you don’t have one.” Gay divorced Billy Gay in 2015.
Mary Cosby has allegedly insulted Heather Gay about not having a husband in the past
According to Gay, that’s not the first time Cosby has used her lack of a husband to insult her. “She says, ‘You look like a man, that’s why you don’t have a man,'” Gay explained during The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City After Show.
Cosby has also allegedly told Gay, “You don’t have a husband, why are you even here — this is a housewives show. You can’t be a wife without a man.” As Gay explained, that’s why she reminded Cosby about her marriage to Robert Senior, who Gay refers to as Cosby’s “step granddaddy” in “Cinco de Mayhem.”
“[Mary isn’t] just degrading me,” Gay said during the After Show. “You are degrading every single woman and single mother out there and that I won’t stand for.”

Cosby also spoke out about the comments during the After Show. “I don’t remember saying it, but I remember Heather saying something about ‘Jennie deserves to be here, her husband paid for it,'” Cosby recalled. “I was like, ‘You don’t have one, so you don’t deserve to be here?'”
Cosby claims she was trying to “enlighten Heather” of her words. “Why would I say that for no reason?” the RHOSLC star added.
Mary Cosby might be done with ‘The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’
When the RHOSLC reunion filmed in January 2022, Cosby did not participate. “The only thing I have to say about the reunion is [that] I didn’t go because it was one-sided,” she explained on Twitter Spaces.
“And everyone heard one side of what they felt — they told lies. I was not going to get on the reunion for a four-part reunion and talk about this guy that has passed.”
Not showing up to the reunion doesn’t confirm Cosby’s exit from the show, but it’s not a good look. “It’s her story to tell, but I got the sense that she was not finding gratitude on being on the show anymore,” Andy Cohen said on his SiriusXM show.
