What did Lisa Barlow say about Jennie Nguyen?

The day that Nguyen’s Facebook posts went viral on social media and were shared by thousands of fans, Barlow filmed an appearance on Watch What Happens Live. Barlow hadn’t publicly shared a statement on social media because she talked about it on the Bravo late-night show. However, on Friday, Jan. 21, the public relations maven posted a statement regarding the anti-BLM messages.

“My heart is so very heavy right now. I feel true hurt and disappointment by the posts that surfaced this week. I do NOT condone, nor am I aligned with them,” she said in a statement posted on her verified Instagram account. “The posts were harmful and hurtful to a community I love. Working for change is constant; it’s something that I personally work towards daily.”

Barlow continued, “Through action is where we all have the most impact and where we can have change that lasts. I always want to be a support and [be] a proponent for change and improvement. My heart hurts for those hurting.”

Fans also noticed that Barlow has unfollowed Nguyen from social media and we independently verified that to be true.

Has Jennie Nguyen reacted to the backlash?

After Nguyen and RHOSLC became a trending topic on social media, the Bravo star issued an apology. In the statement, Nguyen acknowledges the veracity of the posts and claims the Facebook page had been deactivated. However, some have pointed out the flaw in the latter as fans were still able to see the live posts.

“I want to acknowledge and apologize for my deleted Facebook posts from 2020 that resurfaced today,” she said on Instagram. “At the time, I thought I was speaking out against violence, but I have since learned how offensive and hurtful my words were. It’s why I deactivated that account more than a year ago and why I continue to try to learn about perspectives different from my own. I regret those posts and am sincerely sorry for the pain they caused.”

The Facebook posts that Nguyen shared included sentiments that were anti-BLM and justified police brutality. One of the articles that she shared included conspiracy theories regarding the George Floyd case. Nguyen had originally allowed comments on her Instagram apology but later would disable the feature.
