‘RHOSLC’ Star Mary M. Cosby Reportedly Quits After 2 Seasons and Skipping Reunion
Mary M. Cosby is reportedly quitting The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City after only two seasons on the show. The church leader had already skipped the second season reunion as her fellow housewives questioned her organization.
Mary M. Cosby leaving ‘RHOSLC’
Cosby is one of the OG stars of RHOSLC that quickly made headlines for having married to her step-grandfather after her grandmother died. The reality TV personality was quirky and had a lot of funny moments throughout her time on the Bravo reality series. However, after the second season, Cosby was seemingly not enjoying filming the show and has reportedly opted to quit.
“Mary will not be back,” an insider told Page Six. “She did not enjoy her time on the show or form any strong bonds with the ladies.”
Cosby had previously addressed her absence at the reunion during an open conversation with fans on Twitter Spaces.
“The only thing I have to say about the reunion is [that] I didn’t go because it was one-sided,” she said during the broadcast. “And everyone heard one side of what they felt — they told lies. I was not going to get on the reunion for a four-part reunion and talk about this guy that has passed.”
Andy Cohen wanted Mary M. Cosby at the reunion
Whenever a housewife doesn’t show up to a reunion, it is assumed that they are quitting the show and not coming back the following season. It happened when Adrienne Maloof didn’t show up to the reunion of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 3 after a rough season. Andy Cohen famous said that Maloof’s “final act as a housewife” was not showing up to the reunion. Lisa Vanderpump would later also skip the RHOBH Season 9 reunion, effectively quitting the show.
With Cosby not showing up to the RHOSLC Season 2 reunion, it was alleged she had also quit the franchise. Cohen addressed Cosby’s absence on his SiriusXM show saying that he already felt she was not going to make an appearance.
“I had a sense [Cosby was not coming to the reunion], I spoke to her on New Year’s Eve, a few hours before I went on the air, we had a long talk,” Cohen said on Radio Andy. “And it’s her story to tell, but I got the sense that she was not finding gratitude on being on the show anymore.”
The executive producer said he would’ve liked Cosby to show up to explain her side of things instead of allowing “others to control your narrative as your last gesture. I would much rather hear from her.”
Drama on ‘RHOSLC’ Season 3
As production for RHOSLC Season 3 started, news broke about horrible and racist posts made by Jennie Nguyen. The latter was supposed to return to the show but Bravo would later announced they had stopped filming with her.
Nguyen acknowled she had made the Facebook posts that were anti-BLM and spread conspiracy theories about George Floyd. Although the former Bravo star apologized, the damage was too hurtful to allow her to keep her platform on TV.
“At the time, I thought I was speaking out against violence, but I have since learned how offensive and hurtful my words were,” she wrote in a statement posted on Instagram. “It’s why I deactivated that account more than a year ago and why I continue to try to learn about perspectives different from my own. I regret those posts and am sincerely sorry for the pain they caused.”
