What are the charges against Jen Shah?

Shah is in deep legal trouble after she was indicted, along with her assistant Stuart Smith, of committing fraud. The RHOSLC star is said to have defrauded people across the United States trafficking in lists of potential victims, or ‘leads,’ many of whom had previously made an initial investment to create an online business with other Participants in the Scheme.”

Homeland Security Investigations Special Agent-in-Charge, Peter C. Fitzhugh released a statement detailing the charges against Shah and Smith.

“Shah and Smith flaunted their lavish lifestyle to the public as a symbol of their ‘success.’ In reality, they allegedly built their opulent lifestyle at the expense of vulnerable, often elderly, working-class people,” read the statement. “As alleged, disturbingly, Shah and Smith objectified their very real human victims as ‘leads’ to be bought and sold, offering their personal information for sale to other members of their fraud ring.”

Both Shah and Smith “are each charged with one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud in connection with telemarketing through which they victimized 10 or more persons over the age of 55, which carries a maximum sentence of 30 years, and one count of conspiracy to commit money laundering, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years.”

Did Brooks Marks shade Jen Shah?

Salt Lake City was rattled with news of Shah and fans of RHOSLC were very attentive to social media to get all the tea. In particular, viewers of the Bravo reality series were monitoring the social profiles of everyone connected with the show. Meredith’s son, Brooks, shared a cryptic video where he is seen lip-syncing to a song by Nicki Minaj.

“She threw dirt on my name, ended up at her own burial,” Minaj is heard rapping as Brooks moves his lips.

It wasn’t long before fans connected this as shade to Shah following her indictment. Shah and Brooks have a troubled past and she was even accused of “liking” social media posts that dragged his name.

After other Bravo blogs shared reposted the video, Meredith came across one dedicated to RHOSLC news. The reality TV star replied to the post to clear up her son’s name denying he was throwing shade.

“Not sure what you are all interpreting here but there are no hidden meanings on his posts,” Meredith replied. “He is simply lip-syncing to one of his favorite artists. Take it at face value rather than reading into it.”

When an Instagram user called out Meredith and asked her to own it was shade toward Shah, she replied saying, “Believe what you want. I am speaking the truth. No one is in Brooks’ head or knows his intent but him, so [please] don’t tell me what he intends. I am now disengaging on this as there is no more to discuss.”
