Rihanna is making a statement with her hair and outfit to celebrate Fenty Hair, a new collection of hair products releasing on Thursday, June 13. Rihanna became famous thanks to her pop music, but she’s expanded her empire with beauty and fashion products. Now, all eyes are on the superstar’s natural curls and monochromatic outfit that she wore to the Fenty Hair launch party.

Rihanna has debuted several different hairstyles over the years, from short curls to long locks. Now, to celebrate Fenty Hair, she’s rocking her natural curls.

Rihanna stepped out at the Fenty Hair launch party with short honey-blonde curls. She spoke to Access Hollywood about how her hair took a “beating” through the years, leaving her ready to show the world what her natural curls look like.

“My hair takes a beating,” Rihanna said. “It’s been taking a beating for as long as I remember being on camera. Of course, the level of work that I do in terms of scheduling, it’s often. So, a lot of shoots, a lot of red carpets. And that means a lot of potential damage, a lot of introductions to new products over the years.”

Rihanna noted that she wanted her product to be “better” than her favorite products, which is why her Fenty Hair line took so long to develop.

“It wasn’t so much what I didn’t have; I just wanted better,” she said. “I wanted to beat every product that was my favorite product. I wanted a better version. If it wasn’t something that I was going to kick my old stuff out for, it couldn’t stay. And that’s why it took so long to even develop this line, because I was very, very annoying.”

Rihanna said that she wanted those on her team to have different hair types so that they could see how the products felt on their hair.

Not only is Rihanna the queen of hair, but she’s also a fashionista. She paired her natural curls with a custom Khaite oversized red leather bomber jacket over a leather red slip dress. For shoes, Rihanna adorned her feet with red pumps in the same color. Rihanna kept her accessories in the same hue, opting for a ruby and diamond choker from designer Manish Malhotra layered over a ruby and diamond necklace. She also wore Reza diamond earrings.

Rihanna isn’t scared to make bold fashion choices. While speaking to Complex Style, she explained how she had the most fun dressing herself during her maternity era.

“I feel like my style always evolves and I appreciate the evolution, because it’s just about play, right?” she said. “But when I got pregnant … that was a challenge. And it was very fun to figure that out, because I had a new body, and my body was different by the week. So, it was fun to do that and do it in my way, because I feel like maternal fashion has always been presented in one way, and I was a rebel at that.”
