Riley Keough Accidentally Honored Her Grandfather, Elvis Presley, While Filming ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’
There was a time not so long ago when the mention of Riley Keough‘s name was accompanied by her mega famous’s grandfather Elvis Presley. However, over the years, the actor has fought to make a name for herself in pop culture, and her acting credits prove as much.
Keough is famous for her role in Mad Max: Fury Road. Interestingly, the part led to her accidentally honoring her grandfather while filming.

Keough was born in Santa Monica, California, in May 1989. She is the eldest child of Presley’s daughter Lisa Marie Presley. Keough’s parents met when they were performing in her band. Keough’s brother Benjamín Storm died in 2020 from suicide.
She also has two half-sisters, Harper and Finley, from her mother’s side. Keough began modeling when she was 15 appearing in a Dolce & Gabbana campaign in 2004. She followed that up with a Christian Dior campaign in 2005 and graced the covers of Korean Vogue, Japanese Elle, and L’Officiel.
Keough made her acting debut in 2010 when she got cast alongside Kristen Stewart in The Runaways, report IMDb. The following year, Keough landed a starring role in The Good Doctor playing a young patient with a kidney condition. That same year she appeared in Magic Mike alongside Channing Tatum and Matthew McConaughey.
She also starred in Yellow and had a supporting role in Kiss of the Damned in 2012. In 2013, Keough starred as Justin Timberlake’s girlfriend in his music video for the song “TKO.” She plays a deranged girlfriend who knocks him out cold, ties him to the back of a truck, and throws him off a cliff in a desert.
The star got her breakthrough when she landed a lead role in The Girlfriend Experience playing a law student-turned-escort. The show earned Keough critical acclaim and a Golden Globe nod.
Keough’s role in ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’
Although Keough’s performance in The Girlfriend Experience helped make her a household name, her part in Mad Max: Fury Road helped escalate her fame. Billboard reports that Keough had her eyes on an unannounced role in the movie.
She plays Capable, one of Immortan Joe’s wives who, in a desperate bid to get away from his citadel, crosses paths with Max Rockatansky, played by Tom Hardy. The role helped Keough lay a foundation for her later work. Mad Max: Fury Road was an outlier when placed side by side with her filmography.

Keough’s role on Mad Max: Fury Road accidentally paid tribute to her iconic grandfather. Presley made a significant impact in music, which led to an immense fortune. His extensive wealth meant that he could purchase a fleet of cars whose price tag could make one’s jaw drop.
Presley was famous for gifting expensive cars to his friends and families if he saw it fit and Cadillacs were his go-to vehicles. TV host Johnny Carson once joked about Presley’s penchant for giving cars even to people who couldn’t drive.
Rumor has it that the legendary singer gave up to 200 Cadillacs in his days, but those near him claim the number was exaggerated. Presley did, however, buy 14 1959 Cadillacs as giveaway cars for charitable causes, although he didn’t own the 1959 model since he was stationed in West Germany serving in the U.S Army.
Keough’s role in Mad Max paid tribute to Presley as her husband in the movie, Immortan Joe had a Gigahorse that comprised of two 1959 Cadillac Coupe de Villes. Mad Max is the only film where Keough is seen in a vehicle with a significant connection to her grandfather and his love for Cadillac.
