RM Isn’t the Only BTS Member Who Sings in the Shower
Whether it’s RM or Jungkook, the BTS members often sing (or dance) in the shower. Jungkook even mentioned the activity on his individual Instagram account, telling ARMYs that there’s an “echo.”
BTS’ RM sings in the shower — even if it breaks Jimin’s ear
Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook make up the award-winning band BTS — even if some members aren’t known for their singing skills. That includes RM, who functions as a rapper, dancer, songwriter, producer, and unofficial translation for the group.
During an interview with Time Magazine, the BTS members were asked who was most likely to sing in the shower. The answer was a resounding RM, with several other artists imitating RM’s singing skills.
“Broken my ear,” Jimin said in English. When the interviewer asked RM what songs he prefers for his shower jam sessions, the rapper responded with “beautiful songs.”
The teasing is primarily because RM is a member of BTS’ rap line, along with members J-Hope and Suga. Since then, though, the idol showcased his new singing skills in songs like “Permission to Dance.” Suga even revealed that he’s been practicing singing, even if the other members “don’t think much of it.”
BTS’ Jungkook also sings in the shower
When he’s not posting dog pictures and selfies, Jungkook answers fan questions on his Instagram story. He elaborated on his experience with COVID-19 and his thoughts on the cherry blossoms in Korea. One fan even asked if Jungkook sings in the shower.
“That’s a must, a must,” Jungkook said, according to a fan translation on Twitter. “I sing a ton as I shower. It’s crazy. There’s this echo.”
Of course, when he’s not singing in the shower, Jungkook is singing on stage as an official member of the BTS vocal line. He performed solo songs “My Time” and “Euphoria.” Jungkook even shared covers on Twitter, including one of “See You Again” by Wiz Khalifa and another of “Never Not” by Lauv.
Suga cried in the shower after BTS’ 2017 American Music Awards performance
The BTS members sometimes share other aspects of their shower routines, with Suga even saying he cried in the shower following one event.
“It wasn’t like this after the BBMAs, but after the AMAs ended, I cried in the shower,” Suga said in one video of the experience. “It was beyond what I had imagined. I could not even have dreamed of it. When I was showering, I felt pressured and lost about what we were supposed to do from then on.”
During a video interview with Vanity Fair, Jin shared that he listens to “Tell Me Your Wish” by Girls’ Generation (stylized on Spotify as “Genie”) and Young Tak‘s “Jjin-iya.” Outside of their impromptu shower concerts, the BTS members are busy writing, recording, and performing music. The group’s latest album, Proof, is scheduled for release on June 10, 2022.
