Rob Kardashian Could Have Been A Major Figure in Male Fashion, According to Fans
Whether you like them or not, you have to admit that the Kardashian-Jenner sisters have had a tremendous impact on the world of fashion and beauty. The empires these women have grown from their social media and influencer followings are, simply put, impressive. The family has managed to leverage their fame into real businesses with lasting fortunes. One sibling, however, has struggled to find his footing the way his sisters have. Rob Kardashian has been out of the public eye for quite some time, and fans are worried about him.
Now at least one fan is speculating about what might have been. If Rob Kardashian had made different choices, would he have made an impact on the fashion world the way his sisters have?
The Kardashian-Jenner sisters grew their influence
Keeping Up with the Kardashians premiered in 2007, and almost no one could have predicted that it would still be going 13 years later. In the meantime, the sisters were not content to rest on their laurels. They each took their growing fan base and leveraged it into meaningful businesses. Their impact on the fashion and beauty world is clear.
Kylie Jenner rocked the world by creating an immensely successful cosmetic business when she was still a teen. Meanwhile, all three Kardashian sisters are owners of the boutique DASH, which they pieced together when they “literally had no money.” Kim Kardashian West has made her name with SKIMS, a line of shapewear. All the sisters are also able to command top dollar for sponsored posts and brand endorsements. It’s safe to say that, together, the sisters are among the most influential people in the beauty and fashion industries today.
Rob Kardashian struggled to find his footing
When KUWTK premiered, Rob Kardashian was as much a part of the cast as his sisters. The show followed the entire family, and Rob Kardashian’s plot points were just as prominent as anyone else’s, meaning that he, too, was growing a fan base and recognizable name from the exposure. Fans particularly liked watching Rob joke around with Kourtney Kardashian’s then-boyfriend Scott Disick, and the pair brought great comic relief to the drama.
Somewhere along the line, Rob simply faded away from the show. There is a lot of speculation about the cause, and many point to his experiences with weight gain and anxiety about his appearance. In 2015, Rob posted a mean-spirited Instagram post that took a dig at his sister Kim. Khloé Kardashian, coming somewhat to her brother’s defense amidst the fallout explained that “Rob has become very introverted and has a new kind of social anxiety. He’s definitely not at his happiest place.” She pointed to a hopeful future where her brother would be doing better, according to PageSix.
Fans think Rob Kardashian could have done better
Unfortunately, things did not improve for Rob Kardashian. In 2016, he welcomed a daughter named Dream with his then-girlfriend Blac Chyna. Their relationship ended explosively shortly after, and Rob has been battling with her in court ever since. In the public fallout, Rob posted revenge porn of his ex and managed to get himself banned from Instagram.
Some fans speculate that Rob would be in a better place if he hadn’t cheated on former flame Adrienne Bailon. Others think he could still make a comeback if he’d get his act together and set aside his troubled past and social media rants.
Without a time machine, it’s impossible to say exactly what could have become of Rob if he had made different choices, but one fan took to Twitter to imagine a world where Rob had the same kind of fashion influence his sisters have. Not only would this reality have been better for Rob, but fans believe it would have been better for men’s fashion, too. “The male market is so dry and is in much need of a revolution,” a fan wrote. That may be true, but it seems unlikely Rob will be the one to make it happen.
