Did Robyn Dixon Get Fired? ‘RHOP’ Star Finally Breaks Her Silence on Season 6
Robyn Dixon of The Real Housewives of Potomac is one of the OG cast members of the show. The entrepreneur has showcased her family life throughout the series and recently got engaged to marry Juan Dixon again. Rumors of Robyn getting fired from the Bravo show grew after Monique Samuels announced she had quit. Following the claims, Robyn is breaking her silence about her future on the reality series.
Robyn Dixon clears up the drama
RHOP is set to begin filming its new season in the first weeks of 2021. Although it was rumored all the season 5 housewives had been sent a contract, there were claims Robyn had been axed. However, following the multiple blog posts, Robyn is clearing up all the drama.
“If or when RHOP returns, I am looking forward to being part of the new season and sharing my story with the viewers who have been supportive of my journey and the show,” Robyn told People.
Robyn has denied she is leaving the show that made her a household name. However, although Robyn said she is coming back, she didn’t specify in what capacity. It would very well be that she received a contract from the Bravo production but only for a “friend of” role.
The weeks ahead will be very interesting for the RHOP cast and Robyn fans are crossing their fingers that she returns full-time with her glass of champagne.
Monique Samuels quits
One RHOP star that has confirmed she will not return for season 6 is Monique Samuels. The mother of three had a rough season after physically assaulting her co-star Candiace Dillard. Repercussions of the altercation affected the group dynamic for the remainder of the season. After the reunion episodes aired, Samuels announced she was leaving the series.
“It was a crazy ride, it’s not easy doing reality TV, and to be quite honest, I’m over it,” Samuels said during her IGTV broadcast. “I appreciate everything people have done for me, everybody that has been Team Monique, I love yall, but when you cross certain lines there’s no going back. For me, my family is that line. The opinion of my family and my kids and what they think about that I do is more valuable to me than anybody’s opinion, so, I’m over it.”
Samuels acknowledged that she failed herself by “playing right into that sterotype” she didn’t want to portray on TV.
“I wanted to represent real Black love and show people something outside what the stereotype has been on TV,” she continued. “Unfortunately, this season I played right into that stereotype. I was working overtime to check myself because that’s the opposite of what I want to display. I’m always going to be a great example or a role model for my kids and you have to know when enough is enough.”
The other housewives expected to return for RHOP Season 6 include Karen Huger, Gizelle Bryant, Wendy Osefo, Candiace Dillard, and Ashley Darby. Bravo, nor the stars, have officially confirmed who is coming back for the new season expected to start filming soon.
