Now that the season finale has finally aired, fans were left in shock after RuPaul did something many did not see coming.
Disclaimer: Spoilers ahead.
This was a series-finale first
On February 15, the season finale of Rupaul’s Drag Race All-Stars 4 left fans speechless.
Just like past seasons, two queens were left to lip-sync for their legacy in front of the judges.
After sending Naomi Smalls and Monique Hart home, it all came down to Trinity the Tuck and Monét X Change.
The two queens went head to head in a lip-sync showdown and the judges were faced with an extremely difficult decision.
After much deliberation, the outcome was a RuPaul’s Drag Race first.
For the first time in Drag Race Her-story, both Trinity the Tuck and Monét X Change both received $100,000 and were inducted into the Drag Race Hall of Fame.
When that was announced, fans went into a frenzy and couldn’t believe RuPaul decided to crown two queens.
“When faced with the difficult decision of which queen deserved to win, the words of the great philosopher, Michelle Visage, popped into my head: It takes two to make a thing go right. It takes two to make it out of sight,” RuPaul said in a statement. “Not only are Monét X Change and Trinity The Tuck the best of the best, together they can spread their charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent wider, faster and further than ever before. Long Live Drag Race!”
Even though Trinity the Tuck was the obvious front-runner, Monét X Change was the only queen who showed the most improvement throughout the season.
When it came time to share why they deserve to be the winner, Trinity and Monét truly showed their vulnerable sides.
With Monét stating, “I know some kid is sneaking into his mother’s room when she’s not home and seeing themselves in me and discovering they have that person inside of them.”
Then Trinity revealing that she’s, “living proof that no matter how long you’ve been in the business, you’re always growing.”
With those statements, it became clear that these two queens had what it took to be the next Drag All-Stars.
Fans had a lot to say about this decision
Even though RuPaul was confident in his decision, many fans took to social media to share their thoughts regarding the finale.
With a twist no one saw coming, fans took to Twitter to share what they thought about the twist ending.
Both queens are happy with their wins
Even though two queens winning has never happened before, both Trinity the Tuck and Monét X Change are very happy to share the winner title.
Monét X Change took to Instagram on February 16 to share her gratitude for winning.
“Beyond honored to be representing @rupaulsdragrace as a reigning queen, but more so honored to be doing it as a QUEEN OF COLOR, and being your first Chocolate
Trinity the Tuck was a little annoyed having tied with Monét but has since accepted it.
In a recent VH1 press release, Trinity stated, “Wow! I am so excited and very grateful, This cast was amazing, so I’m very happy that I got to experience this with them! I am so very thankful to RuPaul and the judges for pushing me to be better and seeing an All Star in me! I’m so thankful to World of Wonder and VH1 for giving me this platform and I’m so proud to have this honor! I couldn’t have done this without the support of my partner Leo, my friends, family and fans! Thank you!”
