‘RuPaul’s Drag Race:’ How to Watch ‘Canada’s Drag Race’ in the United States
The queens of the north are here. As one of the many RuPaul’s Drag Race-related shows premiering this year, Canada’s Drag Race features a new set of queens competing for the crown and the title. Will this spinoff only be available in Canada? Here’s what we know about this upcoming reality show.
There’s a new version of ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ coming
On May 15, the world was introduced to the next set of “RuGirls.” However, there’s a new Werk Room for these queens to “sashay” into. That’s right. For the first time ever, RuPaul’s Drag Race has a specific competition for Canadian drag performers, each looking for their chance to snatch the crown.
This spinoff will be judged by season 11 runner-up Brooke Lynn Hytes, actor Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman, and model Stacey McKenzie. Together, they will decide which of the 12 queens earns the cash prize of $100,000 and the title of “Canada’s Next Drag Superstar.” There’s no word regarding if, or when, RuPaul will make an appearance.
“I’m thrilled to reveal my hand-picked judges for Canada’s Drag Race. By the power vested in me, I command them to go forth and be my ‘Judge Judys’ of the North,” RuPaul previously said of the series in a statement.
Is ‘Canada’s Drag Race’ only available for binge-watching in Canada?
This series comes hot off the heels of other Drag Race spinoffs, including RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race, RuPaul’s Drag Race: All-Stars 5, and RuPaul’s Drag Race: Untucked for season 12. As of May, however, Canada’s Drag Race is the only series premiering on July 2. It will be available for streaming in multiple countries, although the focus is, of course, Canada.
Primarily, this series will be available for binge-watching in Canada with the streaming platform, Crave and OutTV. There are, reportedly, 10 episodes in the series, each debuting on a weekly basis similar to the other seasons of this reality competition series.
How to watch ‘Canada’s Drag Race’ in the United States
Although Canada’s Drag Race features queens of the North, fans across the globe can catch up on all the charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent, thanks to World of World’s streaming platform, WOWPresents Plus.
New episodes will premiere on a weekly basis there, in addition to the streaming platform, Crave, in Canada. This wouldn’t be the first spinoff series taking place in another country. Previously, RuPaul took her reality competition series overseas, debuting the first season of Drag Race UK during Fall 2019.
Similar to Canada’s Drag Race, this series first became available in the United States on World of Wonder’s streaming platform. There’s also Drag Race Thailand, a series that has multiple seasons already released.
There’s no word regarding if, or when, this show will be available on television networks like Logo and VH1. Canada’s Drag Race premieres on WOWPresents Plus during July 2020. Until then, new episodes of RuPaul’s Drag Race premiere on a weekly basis on VH1.
