As the winner of the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Competition Program, RuPaul’s Drag Race is one of the most successful LGBTQ+ centered television shows, (along with the FX original series, Pose.) Some contestants have since gone on to strut their stuff at the Met Gala and even become the first drag performers featured in a Super Bowl commercial.
There’s good news for fans of this series. Now only is RuPaul’s Drag Race coming back for its 12th season, but its spin-off series, All-Stars 5 is confirmed and ready for release. With the success of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, the drag performer created a series of Celebrity Drag Race, where drag contestants return to mentor public figures for a special season of this competition series.

Featuring “fan favorite” contestants from already released seasons, RuPaul’s Drag Race: All-Stars is a chance for these drag performers to reenter the competition. Although the cast list has not yet been officially released by RuPaul, the 5th season of the spin-off is confirmed, presumably premiering during 2020.
As the first season to drop during 2020, RuPaul’s Drag Race season 12 is slated for a February 2020 premiere on the television network, VH1. RuPaul first shared the news on social media during January 2020, launching the “Meet the Queens” for the new contestants.

Fans are less than a month away from the next season of this Emmy-award winning series. Season 12 premieres on Feb. 28, 2020, featuring 13 new drag performers competing for the crown, $100,000, and the title of “America’s Next Drag Superstar.”
The contestants on this upcoming season include Aiden Zhane, Brita, Crystal Methyd, Dahlia Sin, Gigi Goode, Heidi N Closet, Jackie Cox, Jaida Essence Hall, Jan, Nicky Doll, Rock M Sakura, Sherry Pie, and Widow Von’Du.
“Our producers have come up with twisted, outrageous challenges that raise the bar for all competition of reality,” RuPaul said during an interview with Entertainment Weekly. “Our celebrity guest judges are truly legendary. And this cast of queens is, dare I say, the most talented we’ve ever had. Just when you think you’ve seen it all, a fresh crop of queens arrives and blows our minds all over again.”
So far, Nicki Minaj has been confirmed as a guest judge for the first episode of season 12. Presumably, more information will be announced in the coming weeks. In the meantime, fans can watch episodes of RuPaul’s Drag Race: Untucked on the WOW Presents YouTube channel.
