How Many ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ Contestants Appeared on ‘America’s Got Talent?’
“Ru-Girls,” Rosé and Jan, are members of the infamous America’s Got Talent group, named Stephanie’s Child. However, there have been a few other drag queens from RuPaul’s Drag Race who tried to win other reality competition series’.
Here’s what we know about these drag queens, singers, and performers.
Rosé and Jan competed together on ‘America’s Got Talent’
This trio appeared on The Voice and America’s Got Talent, even though they disagreed with Simon Cowell and his decision. One of the members of Stephanie’s Child, Rosé, is a contestant on RuPaul’s Drag Race season 13, introducing the world to her off-the-beaten-path sense of humor.
Rosé wouldn’t be the first member of this girl group to compete for the RuPaul’s Drag Race crown. In season 12, the musical theater-loving Jan tried her hand at becoming “America’s Next Drag Superstar.” Unfortunately, she didn’t make it to the finals. The group didn’t win America’s Got Talent, either.
Derrick Barry competed on ‘America’s Got Talent’ as a Britney Spears impersonator
It’s Derrick Barry. As a Britney Spears impersonator for season 3 of America’s Got Talent, this drag performer made it all the way to the quarterfinals before being eliminated. When it came to her appearance on RuPaul’s Drag Race season 8, this performer made it to the Top 5.
Although brief, this drag performer also reappeared for the RuPaul’s Drag Race spinoff series, titled All-Stars 5.
Kennedy Davenport appeared on ‘America’s Got Talent’
Although Kennedy showed off some of her iconic lip-sync skills and splits to Donna Summers’ song “Last Dance,” this drag performer didn’t make it to the finals on America’s Got Talent. She did, however, stun the RuPaul’s Drag Race judges on season 7 and All-Stars 3.
When she returned for RuPaul’s Drag Race: All-Stars 3, Kennedy Davenport made it all of the way to the Top 2, as did her fellow season 7 contestant, Trixie Mattel. However, Kennedy did not snatch the crown.
Courtney Act appeared on ‘Australian Idol’ and Adore Delano appeared on ‘American Idol’
Although she never competed on America’s Got Talent, this drag performer is known as the queen of reality television. She appeared on Australian Idol, making it all the way to the finals.
She won her season of Big Brother UK, advocating for the LGBTQ community in the process. When Courtney Act competed on RuPaul’s Drag Race season 6, there was another contestant known for her singing talent.
That’s Adore Delano, who was a competitor on American Idol out of drag. Both of these performers made it to the finals on RuPaul’s reality competition series with Adore returning for All-Stars 2.
New episodes of RuPaul’s Drag Race, some episodes featuring Stephanie’s Child performer Rosé, premiere on a weekly basis on VH1.
