Jan, of the girl group Stephanie’s Child, was a contestant on ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ season 12

She’s much more than just the girl next door. Jan, sometimes known by her other backpack-themed drag name, was a contestant on RuPaul’s Drag Race season 12. There, she competed alongside Gigi Goode, Crystal Methyd, and Heidi N Closet.

Although she didn’t win any challenges, Jan made a lasting impression on RuPaul’s Drag Race viewers. Particularly, this queen stole the show with Madonna: The Unauthorized Rusical, where Gigi Goode took home the win. As the character “Early Madonna,” Jan landed at the top of this challenge.

Even though they looked somewhat different from other seasons due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and social distancing requirements, Jan returned for the “Ru-union” and finale episodes. There, Jaida Essence Hall was crowned the winner of the season.

What’s the 1 runway outfit that Jan would change from season 12?

She was known for her beautiful singing voice and later, for being a part of Stephanie’s Child with the season 13 finalist, Rosé. During episodes of season 12, Jan also had a few iconic runway looks.

That includes her construction worker-inspired “Tulle Look,” her light blue and white “Frozen Eleganza Look,” and her “Reunion” Look which featured curlers in her hair. When it comes to her outfits, there’s one that this drag performer wishes she could change from season 12.

“There’s one runway I’d love to redo: my cape,” Jan said during an interview with Entertainment Weekly. “I wanted that to burst out instead of doing a stop, drop, and roll like it did before.”

“If I get the chance to do that, I’d love to recreate that,” she continued. “It wasn’t even bad. I love the look, I just wish the parachute was [better].”
