‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’: Willow Pill’s 3-Headed Finale Look Was Created By Another ‘Drag Race’ Queen
RuPaul’s Drag Race crowned Denver-bred drag queen Willow Pill as America’s Next Drag Superstar, taking home a record cash prize of $150,000. Willow captivated the judges and the viewers on Season 14 with her unique approach to drag: her out-of-the-box style largely resembles that of her drag mother, Season 11 winner Yvie Oddly.
Willow Pill won Season 14 of ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’
Willow Pill was a fan favorite from the start of Season 14 — and she was a favorite of RuPaul’s too. Throughout the season, she always had viewers on the edge of their seats as they waited to see what look she would serve on the runway net or how she would perform in things like acting and singing challenges.
Willow was one of five queens who competed for the crown at the Season 14 finale. In her first performance of the night, she came out in a three-headed look to perform the original song “I Hate People.” She then went against British ballerina Lady Camden in the final lip-sync, ultimately securing the crown.
Willow made some herstory in the process. She is the first trans queen to win a regular season of RuPaul’s Drag Race in the US, and — along with Yvie Oddly — is the first US queen to win after her drag mother.

Willow Pill’s looks from the finale remain unforgettable, especially her green gown that featured two heads on either side of her own that she performed “I Hate People” in. After the finale, she revealed on Instagram that she had a lot of help in creating the look — including from Season 13 queen Utica.
“This incredible piece was constructed by the one and only @queenutica with the help of @domingocholula and @itssecretqueen (hair) and @hailsatinmillinery who also molded these faces from my face! @siichele topped them off with incredible paint/makeup to match and the final result is more than I could dream of!” she said.
She expressed her gratitude again in another post. “So much work and love went into making this idea a reality!” she said. “I have to give a huge thanks to @queenutica, @hailsatinmillinery, @siichele, @domingocholula, and @itssecretqueen for creating this monster!”
Willow Pill might be stepping back from drag
After her win, she spoke with Entertainment Weekly about what lies ahead for her. In news that may be disappointing to fans, she confessed that she was considering taking a step back from drag.
“I would love to phase a little bit out of drag. I’d love to get more into acting and into absurd sketches and music,” she said honestly. “I kind of want my art to get more disgusting and dirty and more fun. For this year right now, I want to travel all over the world and meet people that have made me have the career that I have now.”
Willow came out on top after the longest season in Drag Race herstory. But even with this achievement, she joked that she didn’t want her head to get too big. “It’s amazing to hear from people how much my drag means to them, but also, I think I need a big ego check,” she said. “I’d love to be humbled; I’d love to escape to the woods for a while and reconnect with myself, because you can kind of lose yourself in all the conflama of fame and celebrity. It feels great to have a huge notification from the world that I’m going in the right direction in my life.”
