Russell Brand worked with Sean “Diddy” Combs in the film Get Him to the Greek, in which Combs played crazed, egomaniacal record executive Sergio Roma to Brand’s rock and roll star, Aldous Snow. Brand opened up about his experience working with Combs back in 2010, admitting you “can’t say no” to the music mogul and businessman.

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs was ‘intense,’ says Russell Brand

In May 2010, Russell Brand told BlackTree TV that he felt very “looked after” by Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs. “He looked after me, he took me on an enforced holiday to Vegas,” Brand explained

He shared, “[Combs] is a very intense man because, I think, he comes from nothing, and now he’s very powerful. People that do stuff like that, they’re intense.”

“Now, I like him. He’s very influential. Say, Diddy went, ‘Could you pick me up for the airport? I’ve just got back from holiday.’ Or ‘I’m going away, would you feed my fish?’ You still do it because you think, ‘Oh, Don’t upset him. He’s an influential person.’”

Brand continued, “You can’t say no. He might ask you for loads of favors, and then you can’t say no, that’s my worry. I’ve become friends with him now; what if he starts ‘Pick us up from the airport,’ ‘Feed the fish,’ ‘Can I borrow your vacuum cleaner?’ It’s going to be pressure.”

The interview concluded with the interviewer joking that Brand could become “Diddy’s b****.” The actor clapped back, “I don’t want to be nobody’s b****. I’ve worked too hard. Not even Diddy’s b****.”

‘Get Him to the Greek’ didn’t age well after allegations against Sean Combs came to light

Sean “Diddy” Combs’s role in the 2010 movie Get Him to the Greek didn’t age well, as allegations against the entertainer continue to unfold. In the role of Sergio Roma, Combs portrays an unhinged music mogul.

In the film, Roma heads Pinnacle Records, the music label that manages Aldous Snow (played by Russell Brand). Snow is a British rock star whose career has taken a nosedive.

As Roma, Combs is an eccentric, intense, and over-the-top music executive who acts as both a mentor and a tyrant to his employees. Thus, he’s portrayed as highly driven and uses aggressive pep talks and strange motivational techniques to push people.

However, one scene seemed eerily relevant to the current allegations against the music mogul. Combs’ character instructs a random female party guest to seduce Aaron (Jonah Hill), thinking it might help her career. Aaron resists the situation, but Roma dismisses Aaron’s protests and says, “No time for complaints; just do what you’re told.”

After an arrest on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution charges, as ruled by a judge, Sean “Diddy” Combs remains in federal custody. He was arrested on Sept. 17, 2024.

USA Today reports that lawyer Tony Buzbee recently announced that he represents 120 new accusers against Combs. “We will expose the enablers who enabled this conduct behind closed doors,” Buzbee said. We will pursue this matter no matter who the evidence implicates.”

Combs’ ex-girlfriend Casandra “Cassie” Ventura accused Combs of rape, sex trafficking and physical abuse in November. He maintains his innocence against all charges.

The disgraced music mogul is being held in federal custody at the Special Housing Unit in the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York. The special housing unit subsequently holds inmates who require additional protection from the general prison population.
