Ryan Reynolds Replied With a Priceless Quip After Dwayne Johnson Tore Apart His Front Gate
They don’t call him ‘The Rock’ for nothing. Dwayne Johnson nearly broke the Internet when he shared a photo of his mangled front gate. The pro wrestler-turned-movie star had apparently ripped it down with his bare hands. And in pure social media fashion, some of Johnson’s famous pals, including Ryan Reynolds, offered hilarious reactions to his post.
Dwayne Johnson Had a Logical Reason to Rip Down His Own Front Gate
Instagram followers were stunned when Johnson posted an image of the front gate of his property. Instead of hanging on its hinges, the gate was lying in the grass. In the caption for the snapshot, the star explained that the gate would not open after a power outage. After trying and failing to override the mechanism, Johnson took matters into his own hands — literally.
“I pushed, pulled, and ripped the gate completely off myself. Tore it out of the brick wall, severed the steel hydraulics, and threw it on the grass,” Johnson wrote on Instagram.
The action star offered a pretty relatable reason for going to such extreme lengths. He simply needed to get to work. “I know I have hundreds of production crew members waiting for me to come to work so we can start our day. So, I did what I had to do,” Johnson said in his post.
Ryan Reynolds delivered a witty quip in response to The Rock’s Instagram post
Predictably, the comments on Johnson’s post are totally popcorn worthy. Especially some of the wisecracks from his Hollywood pals who couldn’t resist mocking their colleague.
“The gate opened the OTHER way,” cracked Ryan Reynolds.
Johnson and Reynolds appear to have developed a warm rapport and are working on their second big-screen collaboration. Reynolds appeared briefly in Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, starring Johnson, Jason Statham, and Idris Elba.
The scene partners sizzled with on-camera chemistry. And to the delight of fans, Johnson and Reynolds are reuniting in a new film called Red Notice, which is currently filming in Atlanta.
Some of The Rock’s other famous friends also weighed in on his front gate situation
Reynolds was not the only celebrity to earn laughs by commenting on Johnson’s Instagram post. A slew of other personalities joined the online conversation.
Former NFL player Brian Westbrook pondered, “Big fella, I’m guessing you couldn’t just jump the fence and get a ride to work? Asking for a friend!”
“The gate’s final words were ‘not like this….’ *beeeeeeeeeeeeep* *flatline*,” wrote standup comic Tony Baker.
“Dang, and I struggle sometimes trying to open the jar of pickles,” remarked comedian James Andre Jefferson Jr.
L. Chris Stewart Esq joked, “I ripped open an Amazon package without using scissors and felt strong. Then I see this. #headedtothegym.”
The string of sidesplitting comments from both fans and famous friends continued. And as for The Rock? Well, as they say, the star is laughing all the way to the bank. Red Notice, starring Johnson, Reynolds, and Gal Gadot, is coming soon to Netflix.
