Sabrina Carpenter Said She Met Paul McCartney in an Awkward Place
To the average fan, Sabrina Carpenter wouldn’t seem to have much in common with Paul McCartney. Despite this, the “Espresso” singer said that Paul is one of her primary musical inspirations. She revealed that she met Paul in an awkward location and cried. Despite this, she had glowing things to say about the “Silly Love Songs” star.
Sabrina Carpenter had a hard time believing Paul McCartney was a real person
During a 2023 interview with Grammy.com, the former Disney star recalled meeting the “Live and Let Die” singer for the first time. “I met Paul McCartney back in March,” she said. “It was at a party, which is not the environment you want to meet your biggest icon in.”
While the venue for this meeting was less than ideal, Carpenter had nothing but nice things to say about the former Beatle’s behavior. “He was so present, sweet, and gracious with me,” she recalled. “You know the kind of eye contact that someone makes with you and you’re like, ‘You’re a real person, I’m just not sure I believe it.'”
Paul McCartney made the ‘Feather’ singer cry
The “Nonsense” singer elaborated on the way that Paul inspired her. “I’ve been so inspired by him my entire life, and I’m not sure a lot of people know that about me,” she said. “I do think that sometimes when you’re writing pop music, or whatever genre it is, I pull from so many different genres and Paul has always been my No. 1. As we were talking, I definitely did start crying a little bit, which is not something I do often. I’ll remember it forever, and I hope I can see him again.”
The “Feather” singer definitely displayed a lot of emotion while she was talking to the cute Beatle. Some celebrities would take issue with that. Paul, on the other hand, is smart and compassionate enough to know that he means a lot to millions of people, and it’s better for him to be kind to his fans. That’s one of the many reasons why Paul is one of the immortal kings of rock ‘n’ roll.
Sabrina Carpenter said 1 Beatles song defined her life
During a 2018 interview with Teen Vogue, Carpenter named the tunes that defined her life. The sole Beatles tune she picked was “Rocky Raccoon” from The White Album. She said she found the tune very strange when she first heard it. It inspired her to become a songwriter. That’s not too surprising when you realize that she has incorporated folk sounds into some of her work.
In Carpenter’s opinion, it’s easy to dismiss “Rocky Raccoon” as yet another song The Beatles wrote while they were high. However, she feels that the tune has a great story. While “Rocky Raccoon” is a tad silly, it’s incredible that the Fab Four managed to tell the entire story of a Western over the course of three-and-a-half minutes. On top of that, the band showed more musical prowess in novelty songs like “Rocky Raccoon” and “The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill” than some songs showed over the course of their entire careers.
Paul has been a massive influence on Carpenter, and she finally got to meet him.
