Sabrina the Teenage Witch is an iconic sitcom that played an integral part in the lives of many young viewers. The show aired from 1996 until 2003, making a star out of the series lead Melissa Joan Hart. The hilarious and fresh-faced Hart, who played Sabrina, wasn’t the only young star to be featured in the series, though. Jenna Leigh Green, an accomplished actor and singer, became a fast fan favorite not long after she was cast in Sabrina the Teenage Witch. In a recent cast reunion interview, Green opened up about what she believes her character would be doing today.

Who did Jenna Leigh Green play in ‘Sabrina the Teenage Witch’?

Green was born in California in 1974. As a young girl, Green flexed her acting muscles by appearing in school and community theater productions, and by the time she was 12 years old, Green had started acting in various television commercials. After Green graduated from high school, she decided to pursue a career in acting full time, landing guest spots in TV shows like ER.

In 1996, Green was cast in the all-new TV series Sabrina the Teenage Witch. As Libby Chessler, Green played Sabrina’s biggest enemy at school, a spoiled child born into privilege who often takes aim at Sabrina, calling her a “freakster.” As a result, Sabrina targets Libby with some of her spells, leading to many interesting comedic situations. Green acted on the series for three full seasons, with the character of Libby getting sent to boarding school at the end of the third season.

Although Green went on to act in a variety of other projects, many fans still know her best for the role of Libby in Sabrina the Teenage Witch—and the actor still has a lot of fondness for the character. In a recent reunion interview with the cast of Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Green was asked where Libby would be today.

“Libby would be steamrolling over every committee and PTA, and chairing college reunions,” Green said. “And, um, you know, thinking that she was just as nice as she always did.” The rest of the cast seemed to agree with Green on her assessment.

Unfortunately, Green never returned to the universe of Sabrina the Teenage Witch – but it’s clear from the cast interview that Green and Hart are actually very close, a nice contrast to their adversarial relationship in the series.

Over the years, Green has continued acting and to this day, she’s a recognized presence in the world of TV. Most recently, Green has acted in The Survivalist, Gossip Girl, and Magnum P.I

Green has also nourished her love for the theater and has acted in many stage shows over the past two decades. Playing the mean girl is a lot of fun.” For fans, Green has perfected the art of playing the utterly charming “mean girl.”
