Sarah “Fergie” Ferguson, the former wife of Prince Andrew and the mother of Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, spent about six years on official royal duties before her separation from Andrew in 1992. Although she and Andrew have since divorced, the two remained on good terms through the years, and she has always been a prominent part of the family despite not being an official working royal.

Sarah’s life does come with some regrets, and she once revealed that she felt “regret” after Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding.

Sarah Ferguson revealed the ‘regret’ she felt after William and Kate’s wedding

Ferguson, unlike plenty of other royal family members, did not attend the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton back in 2011. William and Kate had been dating for more than eight years by the time they were engaged, so it was a very long-time-coming event.

Although Fergie wasn’t at the wedding, it did bring up some confusing feelings for her — and they had to do with her own wedding that occurred years earlier rather than William and Kate’s.

“If I, being me now, could go back to that young girl when I was 24, I would say to her, ‘You know what? I will stick with you. I will stay with you. I’m with you,” Ferguson told The Daily (via Express) of her regret for not trusting herself when she was younger. “Listen to your instincts Sarah, and be aware of your behavior, and be aware of how lucky you are.”

Ferguson thought of these regrets around the time of William and Kate’s wedding because it’s the same place that she married Andrew, though she did not express regret over her marriage to him. She even told herself years later that she had “the best-looking prince.”

Sarah Ferguson’s daughter Princess Beatrice recently announced her second pregnancy

Fergie recently talked about how proud she is to be Beatrice and Eugenie’s mother shortly after Beatrice revealed that she and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, are expecting their second child together. The two share one daughter, Sienna, and Beatrice is step-mother to Mapelli Mozzi’s son, Wolfson.

“A very proud GiGi/Mum today,” Sarah shared on Instagram after news broke that Beatrice was pregnant. “Such an incredible blessing and an embrace to my heart … Wolfie, August, Ernie and Sienna will be over the moon to have the fifth member of the five aside!” Ferguson also added Eugenie’s two children with Jack Brooksbank, August and Ernie, into the happy post.
