Sarah Jessica Parker Announces Her Next Project and It Has Nothing to Do with ‘Sex and the City’!
Sarah Jessica Parker, famed for her role in Sex and the City, has lit up the large and small screen for decades, but she’s ready to take her business know-how and try it out in a completely different arena. Parker, 53, announced that she will be teaming up with New Zealand’s own Invivo. The former starlet will be working with the company to develop her very own wine.
Parker’s foray into the alcohol arena might seem like a surprising choice, but for six seasons she played the role of Carrie Bradshaw, the feisty writer who put the cosmopolitan on the map. The partnership is a stroke of marketing genius for Invivo Wines, too. After all, who wouldn’t want to share a glass with their favorite Sex and the City galpal?
Everything we know about Sarah Jessica Parker’s wine
According to Food and Wine, Parker’s new line of wines will launch in Summer 2019. The wines that will roll out first will take the season into account, with a sauvignon blanc and rose slated to be the very first offerings from the signature brand. Parker has been outspoken about her excitement for the venture.
The mother of three released a statement to the public that covered how involved she plans on being in the process. Parker plans on being involved in blending the wine, picking the bottles and designing the labels. She will also have final say on what products make it to market. Rob Cameron, Invivo’s winemaker, noted that Parker would not be a spokesperson. Instead, she is a shareholder in the business and will be directly involved with the day-to-day production of the product.
What else is Parker working on?
Parker lent her former Bradshaw persona to a Stella Artois ad campaign this year as well. Parker teased Instagram followers with a short clip before the full commercial was released. While there may be no additional films, fans can still saddle up with their old friend, Carrie. At least there’s that!
Parker also celebrated her brand, SJP’s 5th birthday recently. She took to Instagram to share the good news. The brand offers shoes, handbags and a signature line of perfumes. Her product lines can be found in Bloomingdale’s, among other stores.

Parker isn’t the first celebrity to get into the liquor game
While Parker’s announcement is an exciting one for all the fans out there dismayed by the news that Sex and the City 3 will never get made, it isn’t an unheard of move for a Hollywood heavy hitter. Parker is not the first celebrity to release a liquor or wine; in fact, she is in outstanding company.
Brad Pitt, while married to Angelina Jolie, founded Miraval Rose. The rose sold out of its first 1,000 cases in under 24 hours in 2013. According to Vanity Fair, the wine produced by the 150-acre vineyard the pair purchased during their marriage is perfect for a warm summer evening. Drew Barrymore also has a wine business, one that caters to those who aren’t wine
George Clooney and Justin Timberlake both involved themselves in the tequila game, working with master crafters in Mexico. Timberlake paired up with Sauza to create a signature tequila, while Clooney founded Casamigos Tequila.
